Ernesto’s goes above and beyond Google’s rating. The Mexican food is delicious, authentic, and served with warm hospitality. From the moment you walk in, you would feel welcomed by the inviting atmosphere. The dishes were flavorful, showcasing the vibrant spices and fresh ingredients of Mexican cuisine. Ernesto and his family made the experience even more enjoyable. For an unforgettable journey, Ernesto’s is the place to go.

My husband and I had been wanting to try Ernesto’s since we moved to the Apalachin area so Friday night we finally decided to go give it a try and boy oh boy it did not disappoint! We both got burritos and it was the best I have ever had and same with my husband. We wanted to go back for another the next day-ha! The prices are very reasonable and the salsa with chips was also one of the best I have ever had. The atmosphere was cute and cozy. We will be back again!

While coming through Owego we decided to stop at Ernesto’s for a bite to eat. We had never visited before. After waiting at the counter for 5+ minutes for someone to seat us we finally got a table. (That should have been a sign) We both ordered Fajitas. My guest has the crab, scallop, and shrimp fajitas and I the steak, chorizo, and chicken. The skillets came sizzling hot! The plates piled with onions and peppers but the proteins were lacking. My guests plate had 1 small scallop cut in half along with imitation crab meat and a few shrimp. My plate had a few small strips of steak, a few nuggets of chicken, and chorizo crumbles. Don’t get me wrong the food was hot and fresh…..but lacking meat for the price and pretty bland for our liking. We received 2 flour tortillas each. We asked for no beans and extra rice and we were surprised to be charged $1.99 extra per person. Final thoughts…. Overpriced for what we got and bland. Won’t visit again.

Stopped at Ernesto’s after a long drive and the food was fantastic as well as very reasonably priced. My GF, who is more into Mexican than me, said it was the best Mexican restaurant she has ever been in. Highly recommended

Took my family to this restaurant and had the worst experience! I had the steak enchorizado it was super salty the owner tried to accommodate me and had me ordered something else wich i ordered a simple beef taco salad and the beef was very bland and had more peppers than meat i didn’t eat it either anyway when it was time to pay the bill he charged me for the steak enchorizado wich was the meal I had complained about not the Taco salad when I said something about it the owner started yelling at me and waving he’s hands in my face. Very poor customer service the worst I ever had.

I had shrimp fajitas and the shrimp were a nice size, fresh on fried red and green bell peppers, onions and pablano peppers with some soft tortillas and it was delicious. My husband had chicken chimichangas and the chicken was very good moist and tender and there were 2 on his plate. Both had rice and beans, however we skipped the beans. This was the first time there and we enjoyed it so much. We will go back and our waiter was also the owner who was very nice. It’s not real big but I guess there was about a dozen tables there. They have a big menu with things on it that alot of Mexican restaurants don’t have. Everything is made … homemade. The next time we might be trying the pork chimichangas the owner said how they make it and it sounds really good. Go try this place for some homemade fresh Mexican food.
