I recently visited this bar and had a great time! The atmosphere was cozy and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. The short male bartender was especially skilled at making shots – they were fantastic! However, I was disappointed to find out that they didn’t have espresso martinis on the menu. That being said, I would still recommend this spot for a fun night out.

Paid $5 to queue music. I played Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Wire and GodSpeedYou! Black Emperor. All but Eno were skipped by bar tenders. Though most songs exceeded 5 minutes, and one over 16 minutes, it was quite understandable. My rating would be 2 stars but they skipped the Skyrim theme song which brought it down to a 1.

My favorite college bar in campus town, Es Tas wins by a long shot with their Taco Tuesday specials. However, visiting on Tuesday can be uncomfortable because the place will stay crowded for the entire night due to the insanely low prices on just about everything. People purchase whole pitchers of beers individually and drink for quite a while. Finding a spot to just sit and enjoy your dinner can become very difficult despite a reasonably large dining area. As for the tacos themselves, it’s special too… two words: DEEP FRIED. Yeah, I know typical crunchy taco shells are deep fried, but Es Tas freshly deep fried flour tortillas make all the difference in the world. Pair those $1ish tacos with a basket of tots and a pitcher of fresh tap beer, it’s no wonder I’m always at Es Tas on Tuesday nights. A fine point that may not be appreciated by most, but Es Tas does frequently rotate their tap beers as well. Given that Märzen is my beer of choice, I frequent Es Tas in the month of October even more than the typical Tuesday visit.

Wish I could give a zero. Went here with my son for his birthday for 21 and they denied him for “an expired ID”. It isn’t even possible for him to get a new ID that soon. I’m even his father with same last name. Also door guy was very dismissive, especially considering they JUST got in trouble for cops pulling 12 minors from their bars. STAY FAR AWAY!!!

Unfortunately, the bouncers at es tas are incapable of reading a real ID as I’ve been denied several times even though I’m 22. It’s costing the bar business as I quite like their drinks but I’m very annoyed by them constantly acting as if my ID is fake.

It’s absolutely a dive bar, but their tacos are better than they have any right to be. You won’t be waited on hand and foot. You won’t be impressed by the cleanliness of the bathrooms. It’s a no frills dive bar that also serves food. But don’t miss it.

Me and all my buddies (all 21) went there and got a round of drinks with no problem, then proceeded to get ID’d by a different bartender there and he immediately denied us and told us to leave. (He also refused to scan the ID’s as we all knew they would scan) and caused a scene for zero reason. Would not recommend this place for drinking as the bartenders are obviously inexperienced and do their job incorrectly. Not to mention one of the girls was giving us an attitude the whole night.

Fun college Mexican place. Located basically on campus in middle of college housing. Fun to watch the college crowd act the food! Great specials and solid Mexican food.

Excellent tacos, especially when on a deal on Tuesdays. However, with the place dead empty, the music was overwhelmingly loud. Although they have great craft beers, they appear to struggle to sell through them, leaving beers to age. Come for the tacos, leave before the college kids get there.
