Esterly’s Mertztown, PA. 3rd generation cheesesteak makers. These cheesesteaks have been around the world. I love this area. This is a converted house. I am 90% certain that the grill room use to be someone’s bedroom. It is the ‘no grease’ cheesesteak. The ‘no grease’ makes it a great traveling cheesesteak. $5.90, yes $5.90. At $5.90, if you live in this area you are wasting money if you don’t eat here every night. It had the Pennsylvania Dutch soft roll. That is a very good change-of-pace roll. Sneaky good amount of meat for $5.90. Very good amount of cheese and very good cheese melt. With ‘no grease’ you can really taste the meat and the cheese. Nice sauce and I like the big chunks of fried onions but I wish they were mixed in with the meat & cheese. Overall, very good cheesesteak. @Mikeyyyeatz did a very good job.

This little shop should DEFINITELY get more recognition. Fiance got a regular cheese steak and it wasn’t greasy. I ordered the chicken cheese steak and the meat was tender and far from dry. It’s very rare that a sandwich shop can perfect both of these

Not crazy for the bread. Kinda “hotdog roll” texture. Having said that, they are not shy with the amount of meat they give you. And when they say greaseless… They mean it. Cash only payments also mean less visits though. I simply don’t carry cash.

We used to live in the area and still have friends we visit there. They told us we should try Esterlys so Saturday we did. We bought 7 cheesesteaks and 1 ham and cheese hoagie. All with fries. The food was good and we will be going back again, but only if we have other stops in the area.

Wow, went for the first time. Awesome steak sandwich and fries too. Bring cash no cards. No dine in but 2 tables outside if weather permits. Very busy and now I know why. Can’t wait to go back!
