Super calm and chill atmosphere, awesome service, the food was recommended and did not disappoint, I got the brakartoffeln and it was awesome. I also tried the bratwurst meal and it was good, sausage had great taste and the sauerkraut and potatoes balanced each other very well.

Cozy German-themed restaurant nestled in the old part of MV across the Village. Pork schnitzel with fried potatoes and the bratwurst sausage and sauerkraut were hot and tasty. Sauerkraut itself was a bit overseasoned but warm and tasty. A few bakery items but the food is surprisingly good along with the friendly service. Small outdoor patio with picnic tables in the back

Used to be a really warm and welcoming place with good variety of food and pastry options. Stepped in and walked straight out twice now. The quality seems to be consistently going downhill. Worker has attitude and is not friendly. Selection of pastries is really really sparse. Not sure what happened but that’s the end of my time with Esther’s.

Simple German themed cafe and beer garden (in back). There is a new owner so we’ll see how things develop. After Box left Los Altos they stopped serving beer on tap in the garden. Just bottled beer now. Parking in front is hard so go through to the left of the building or into Chef Chu’s lot to get to the back where there is lots of parking on street or in the lots. Chu’s lot#2 is huge and there are no customer police. There are some permanent parkers there.

I enjoyed the German pancake with apples. It is not like a Dutch pancake. It’s more like a dense crepe. My hubby and my son ordered omelettes. They were decent. Nothing special about German coffee- tastes like any other house coffee. Their desserts and pretzels are so delicious, especially the triangular shape shortbread with a layer of raspberry topped with almond slivers and then the edge is dipped in chocolate- heaven!!! My hubby and I came back a few weeks later and tried the dishes in the photos below- amazing!!!

Wurst and pommes were good, however they don’t have many kinds of bread.

Great warm German style environment. Food are tasty, pork shank cooked perfect, combine with Hefeweizen on top at a early summer night, feels like in German.

Overall great food. Awesome sausages, and the ground mustard sauce that they serve there is awesome. Don’t think you can get that anywhere else. We got there almost 1pm on a Sunday so most of the bakery items are gone. So I think you should go earlier for a better selection. Also, parking was also difficult.

Great place for coffee & a pastry or a full brunch! We wanted to try a sweet option and a savory option, so we shared the German pancake and the potatoes/bratwurst topped with eggs. Both were delicious! You can also buy fresh bread or pretzels to take home. There are a few small tables outside in the front, or you can sit in the beer garden patio in the back to avoid the road noise.
