Weekend brunch was delicious. I had beef hash and hubby had the breakfast sandwich, absolutely delicious! Drinks are a bit small, but tasted great as well. Servers were very attentive. Will definitely be coming back.

Great spot for brunch. Inside seating with AC. Was not to packed when we got there on Sat 11am. Portions were a bit small for the price. Over all good quality and good service. Would visit again in this area.

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but this was a truly terrible experience. We came for brunch. My daughter ordered chicken and waffles — but in reality, it was a chicken thigh and 1/2 a waffle. Seriously, they served *half* of a waffle, which seemed oddly skimpy, especially for the price, but overall her food was good.

The olive tangello fennel salad that was paired with the fried oysters was great. The person I went with got their Cavatelli and paired it with Petit Manseng white wine. The combination was amazing. Finished it off with a grandma’s slice cake for dessert. It tasted lovely.

First time dining and I really enjoyed it. The staff was pleasant and attentive. I also enjoyed my meal. Portions were a bit small, however, it was still a solid dining experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Evening Star Cafe. The inviting ambiance was complemented by live music in the outdoor area, creating a delightful atmosphere. Me and my family had brunch and it was the perfect choice. What impressed us the most was the reasonable pricing of the drinks, allowing us to indulge without breaking the bank. The mezcal cocktail was a perfect start, and the fingerling sweet potatoes and lamb rigatoni were both fantastic dishes that left us craving more. The attentive service provided by our waitress made us feel right at home, adding to the overall positive experience. Additionally, we recently attended a charity event at Evening Star Cafe, where we savored a couple of beers and indulged in their incredible bacon sliders. It was an unforgettable evening. We highly recommend Evening Star Cafe for a perfect weeknight date night or any special occasion.

I almost never write reviews for restaurants that I eat at, but the braised lamb dish was so unbelievably delicious that I just had to get it off my chest and into the world. The flavors just exploded from the instant the first bite hit my taste buds. Who would have thought lamb and rigatoni with zaatar spices would make such a perfect medley? This was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten, and it was so unassuming – combined with ordering five minutes before the kitchen closed – yet blew me away. I was speechless as I kept taking more and more bites. I kid you not it brought tears to my eyes it was so good. And now here I am waxing poetic about the dish. I can’t wait to return to try more of the dinner dishes. Please do yourself a favor and go to evening star and get the braised lamb.

We used to have brunch in front yard and it was amazing! Friendly stuff, delicious food, our kid played outside in the shade. Definitely will return back.

Making a trip into Alexandria, I figured I’d look for the most well reviewed establishments at which to have brunch. Combined with an appealing menu, Evening Star Cafe seemed to fit the bill. I ordered The Vermonter, a cinnamon bun sandwich with fried chicken, candies bacon, fried egg, and aioli served with fries. Overall, the dish was not bad – the eggs were cooked perfectly with just a bit of run and the chicken was perhaps the most tender and moist I’ve ever had. Now the cinnamon bun was small and lacked flavor, the bacon didn’t appear to be candies at all, and the fries were basic. A major complaint was their Bloody Mary which was advertised to come with a grilled cheese and bacon skewer. The drink came without either, and about five minutes later the 1”x1” grilled cheese square was brought out; the bacon never came.
