Great place for comfort food of ramen and fried rice and gyoza. Owner is really friendly as well.

Anyone familiar with the quality of food in Japan will immediately recognize that this restaurant’s food does not meet that high standard. I felt there was something lacking in every dish. The ramen lacked any depth and the noodles were over cooked. The curry was a little bit watery, and the gyoza were small.

Perfect food for a rainy day or a day after a long hike. The wontons in the wonton ramen are silky smooth (I always get this, it is their best dish personally). The broth was flavorful and not too Rich. This isn’t a high end bowl of soup but it executes the basics well.

They have the best mini combos…. this is the shoyu ramen, mochiko chicken and curry and a side of gyoza.

5 stars based solely on childhood memories and the fact they survived covid thus far…. yes, ive seen some questionable creatures run around here, but i definitely try to grab some curry, ankake or jumbo gyoza around once a month or whenever im in the area and not eating waimalu chop suey or saimin or husky tacos….

They have some of the best and cheapest ramen in the area. Make sure to get their 3 item combo (main dish plus gyoza and fried rice.) The staff here is always nice and they are usually not so busy. Food is always good, offering your basic ramen but also cool new blends like “Spam Katsu Curry.”

I enjoy all their ramen combos. Broth is very tasty. Hours are reduced since COVID-19 and the shutdowns started.

Best ramen spot on island in my opinion. The charsui ramen is my absolute favorite.

I’ve been coming to Ezogiku since 2010 with my then boyfriend, now husband. We predominantly went to the now closed University Ave. location, since it was the most convenient, but we frequented this spot as well. Ezogiku has become our benchmark for non-fussy, old school ramen shops. They are consistent and simple in terms of their flavorful broth, noodles, and char siu. Ezogiku’s mochiko chicken and gyoza are to this day my favorite mochiko chicken and gyoza anywhere, bar none. Their fried rice is excellent, and tastes even better as leftovers. My husband and I are super nostalgic for Ezogiku, and will continue to think about it fondly for the rest of our lives.
