Nice diner type restaurant. Homemade bread looked very good on the sandwiches. My mother-in-law ordered the carrot cake which she liked. I did not see nor were we offered kids menus. The waitress did bring a coloring book and crayons for the kids to color in which was nice but not everyone would appreciate that it was already colored on most pages. But the restaurant was cozy and clean, wait staff was friendly and food was good enough.

This is a little out of the way place in wine country. The decor is cool with a country cabin vibe. They have a decent sized menu, with all of the common breakfast food, although I was surprised at the prices. Considering if you order an omlette, other than toast. that is litterly all you get. Almost anywhere I have been, some sort of potatoes come with an omlette. The omlette I got had onion, peppers, mushrooms, cheese, sausage, & ham. All of their omlettes are made with 2 eggs.

Like to go exploring and came here. Place was bigger than I expected. Homemade bread and corn beef so had to try. Food was good and reasonable.

If you want a very good meal with a family atmosphere this is the place to be. If you’re expecting fast food and service realize this is not a chain restaurant. If your wait is a little long the food is worth the wait. The staff is accommodating and friendly and make sure you order dessert…

We’ve been here many years ago and had a fantastic breakfast experience. Went back during Grassroots weekend (maybe not the best idea). It wasn’t busy, which was unusual. Typically, there was a line at the door to get in! The food was ok, but not the omg-must-eat that it was years ago. Guests were older, and hacking and coughing, which was….gross. I don’t know if we’ll go back. I miss it from ~8 years ago!

The fries were burnt and the waitress walked away from me when I asked for fresh. I didn’t ask with an attitude! I tried to be very polite about it. When she brought the fries, I tried to apologize again, she said, “I said it’s fine.” And walked away. Unfortunately, overall, our experience was not a great one.

Came here because of the great reviews, but I forgot that Upstate/Southern Tier has notoriously low standards for food… There just aren’t enough decent options around here so some places get great reviews because there’s no where else to go… The eggs were fine—you can’t really mess up eggs—the coffee tasted burnt, the home fries were unseasoned and bland, and the corned beef hash tasted straight from a tin. The homemade wheat toast, though, was surprisingly delicious! I ate about half my plate and then left. I hate wasting food, but I couldn’t stomach another bite. Place was packed, so maybe I just had a bad experience… Then again, if you’re the only restaurant around, where else are folks gonna go? Oh, and double-check the prices before ordering—one egg instead of two is $3 dollars cheaper, depending on the plate, and an egg on the side is only $1.50, so you’re better off ordering a one-egg plate with another egg on the side. Sever didn’t seem to like me ordering like that, but oh well!

Breakfast was great….corned beef hash tasted super fresh and homemade. More stops by with the coffee and I would’ve give it 5 stars across the board!

Stopped in for breakfast. Service was a little slow. Food was good. Came out hot. There was 6 of us so a large order but all came out together and was good.

This is a good diner. Extremely decent prices for quintessential American diner breakfast and lunch meals. The staff here is on the ball and always ready to help. Prompt coffee refills and timely service. Decent children’s activities while you wait for your order. The restaurant is well located for a lunch or breakfast break if you are visiting taughannock State park or other local attractions. Lots of parking and also right next to grassroots.
