Had not been to Family’s in quite a few months due to some dietary changes I needed to make; however, as always, their food was delicious and perfect. Had a cheeseburger platter. Their coleslaw is the best around. Their pies are delicious with heaping meringue on top. I love the chocolate pie. Great service, multiple food selections, great food!

This place is having own atmosphere. It was very local and very crowded in the nice way. Delicious pancake, I will come back to eat more pancakes next time. Vegetable omlet was also good and stuffed with onions, tomatoes and pepper.

The food is good, but if you are not family or a regular customer, you will waste a lot of life in this establishment. Watching table after table get served before you. We waited roughly 25 minutes for a table because 1/5 of their tables were “reserved.” When we finally got to sit down, we patiently sat for over an hour before our food came out. Having nothing to do besides observe, I literally counted 5 groups of people that came in after we did and were all served, and most even left before we even got our food. And that’s not an exaggeration. The staff knew all these people by name and were having conversations with them. We sat there awkwardly and beginning to wonder if our waiter even put our order in. It’s a shame. We were paying customers, yet treated like trash. We won’t be back.

Redeeming quality of this place is the food. If you’re retired and have time to wait you’ll get fed some made from scratch fixins at a low price. If you’re retired you probably still carry cash or a checkbook cause this old fashioned establishment doesn’t have those newfangled plastic card readers. They do have an ATM that only puts out $20, if its not out of order. The young lady at the register with her baby in a crib behind her covered the $3 dollars we were short. I promptly repaid the debt with all the spare change in the car. Avoiding the chance of Pinkertons going after us. Picture related.

Me and my 5yo went in around lunch time. Sat at the counter. Place was homey and comfortable. Wasn’t totally packed or totally empty.

Nothin’ fancy – just good homestyle cooking. Their menu is pretty extensive – and breakfast all day! Servings were generous and tasty. Quaint little small town place. Our server was very friendly. We’ll be back. 🙂

The sweetest place and the kindest people. Heidi was our waitress and we couldn’t have received better service. The food was delicious!! If you’re in the area we highly recommend this place!

Stopped on our way home to Indiana from Pigeon Forge. I had never heard of goetta. It was great. Everything was good but I’d make the trip back just for that.

Today was the 1st time I’d ever ate there. Our server must have assumed we were local as she never bothered to tell us about the daily special. They only accept cash and when we checked out the man in front of us owed a few dollars and a small amount of change (.13 cents) of which she quickly retrieved from the small jar next to the register. Our bill was $18.09 but she never bothered to grab any change from the jar for our tab. This place is very local yocal oriented. The server was not very friendly and I saw 5 other (local) customers who came in after us get served before us. I may go back but I’m not sure. Servers should focus more on providing better service to everyone and not just individuals she knows personally. She actually yelled out to someone coming in the door while standing at our table taking our order. Food was good and portions were plentiful. I would have liked to be told about the daily special as I’m sure any good server should tell the customers about anyway when orders are taken.
