Do not come here is you are looking for typical bad service and mediocre food. Farlow’s is wonderful. You can taste the love in every bite. Cheesy? Yes but spot on. The service is top notch professional. The chef’s create delicious food and will educate you if needed. This fish pictured below tasted like chicken. How? Why? I don’t like fish, but this was divine.

Farlow’s carry an ample dinner menu, especially seafood choices that will delight your taste buds, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.

High quality seafood in a beautiful setting. Farlows on the Water offers a huge variety of fish and seafood meals as well as poultry, pork, and steak options. The menu is huge so there is bound to be something for any palette. Seriously, the menu is so huge that making a choice is difficult (in a good way). Oh, and the drinks and dessert menus are also quite extensive.

You can’t beat the setting. Garden, patio, and indoor dining options all offer views of the water. The menu features Carribean-inspired dishes with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and local seafood. Reservations were limited and the prices reflect the prime location and upscale environment. Expensive but delightful for a family dinner. The garden and pati areas are particularly nice.

We finally got reservations to this hot spot in Englewood and it did not disappoint! The food is a fusion of Caribbean and American food, accompanied by soft jazzy music in the background. I recommend the Mahi Mahi with bell peppers mangoes and pinapple, Caribbean rice and baked sweet potato with buttery rum sauce. Also, if you’re having the house salad, pls try their citrus balsamic dressing…it is out of this world. We had conch fritters as appetizer….it brought me right back to my life growing up in the Caribbean. Our server was Mike from Hawaii…what an amazing person. All his recommendations were spot on..Pls make reservations, it is hard to get in when the snow birds are here and on a regular night like tonight it was packed.

As big foodies, my partner and I are always looking for both high quality food and unique dishes, and farlow’s doesn’t disappoint. We had the slow roasted mojo cuban pork, fried green tomatoes as a starter, coconut shrimp with strawberry coconut dipping sauce, tripletail, the chocolate pecan pie, and their dessert special which was sticky toffee carrot cake. We were stuffed through to overstuffed, and wanted to keep going. The portions are generous and delicious. We were also seated outside in the garden by the water as the sun set and you couldn’t ask for a more amazing atmosphere. Make farlow’s a must-visit for Placida, but be prepared to spend a little bit of money.
