Good spot. Good food. Came in the evening time and the place was empty but I guess they had just recently changed their hours to be open later. Ordered the country fried steak and I gotta be honest, i haven’t had it in awhile. Green beans and mashed potatoes w/ brown gravy , and for my sweet tooth, a piece of Black Forest chocolate cake. Let me tell you something, food was dang good. But then again, this is a low key spot and its not for anyone trying to find a fancy place to eat. But if you want a nice down home kind of country cafe? This is the place. And I spent less here then i likely would have going to a fast food joint.

First time coming back since Carriage House days. Got the cheeseburger. Pretty good, not fancy, but good. Great steak fries. We were offered a complimentary cup of beef vegetable soup. Waitress was very nice and friendly. Clean place, decent prices, good food. Will be coming back. I recommend giving it a try

Had lunch with a friend today and was pleasantly surprised with this place. They do breakfast all day, which is always nice. The menu has lots of options, so everyone should be able to find something they want to eat. It was our servers first day on the job and she did pretty well. The food was well prepared and tasty. Good place for good food.

The vegetable soup was very good made like a true homemade soup. And the salad was fresh. I had Italian beef sandwich it really was not Italian but it was a good beef sandwich on a hoagie. The wife had a chicken sandwich and she said it was very good chicken was cooked to perfection. Grilled toasted bread. They just start opening up for dinner on Friday and Saturday usually they close at 3:00 now they’re open to 8:00 or 9:00 would go back there.

Brand new ownership and kitchen staff of the Farmhouse Cafe is very much an improvement from the disaster that was Carriage House. Last weekend we ate breakfast and were blown away by the food. Every single item we got was delicious. The decor is updated and those most uncomfortable booths are gone as well. For our visit, the staff were welcoming and professional.

Had the Chicken Fried Steak, corn, coleslaw and ice water with lemon (I don’t drink soda). The steak was EXCELLENT and prepared in house. That in itself is a rare find. I personally know of TWO such places in the Four State Area. The corn had a nice fresh taste and texture, the coleslaw was very good as well. The waitress and staff were nice too. Next time I’m in Springfield, I’ll likely eat there again.

First time here today and we had a very good meal. They had a special on fried chicken and it was delicious. And we each got free dessert for spending $7.99 for a meal and it was a lemon blueberry pie and was delicious to. We will definitely be back there again.
