Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

I had ordered a Large deep dish Chicago classic and it was our first time ever ordering from this pizzeria . When I arrived to the house the pizza was watery and the sausage didn’t look like it was cooked all the way through and was just a big slab of meat . Unfortunately the family was hungry so we had no choice than to eat it . We even tried to put pizza in the microwave to see if the meat would cook a little bit but it did no justice . We are very upset and disappointed by being first time customers and having a very bad experience. If I can give this 0 stars I would .

A man named Scott who I’m guessing is the owner/manager was very sweet even though my order was placed within 30 minutes of closing. Great customer service and he had a huge smile on his face. Pizza came out 10 minutes early too. Will be coming back! 🙂

Update: Gave this location another shot, and once again the service was just so bad. They kept insisting I ordered from a different location only to magically find the pizza in the back after I told them this was in fact the location I ordered from. Very similar experience to my last (more below in original review). Will never return to this location.

placed an order with an employee who sounded like she was barely paying attention on the phone, asked me to confirm my phone number 2 times and name 3 times…i place my order, wait 45 min and show up to nothing ready and two employees telling me i never placed an order. Checked my phone and confirmed the phone number and they still offered me nothing. They got their manager and the best he could do was make a pizza which would take another 30 min and waive a delivery fee. That wouldn’t actually save me anything, since i already spent the time and gas to get out there. just avoid this place, they don’t know what they’re doing.

I’ve always loved Lou Malnati’s thin crust. Today was my first online order from them. My pizza arrived 40 minutes late and was completely cold. Very disappointing.

Horrible delivery service at its finest. Had to wait more than a hour for my pizza and at that, when I got my pizza it was COLD! I tipped extra for my pizza for it to arrive late? I tell everyone I know don’t order from here. All the times i ordered, all them came LATE. You been warned.
