We had dinner at fat daddy’s smokehouse and the food was delicious. Eric was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He knew the food well and could tell he enjoyed it himself. This is not a super fancy smoke house nor should a smoke house be super fancy. Fat daddy’s smokehouse has a real classic smokehouse vibe and is a must try should you ever visit Maui.

We are vacationing in Maui and felt like barbecue, so we headed to nearby Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse. We were warmly welcomed at the counter and the menu was clearly listed on the blackboard on the wall behind the counter. We ordered our food and in a short time it was delivered to the table. I ordered St. Louis ribs. They were smoky, meaty, and delicious. My wife ordered brisket. She shared some with me and it was lean, smoky, and tasty. My sister ordered chicken and shared a bite with me. It was smoky, moist, and flavorful. We also had a variety of sides: The Carolina slaw was crisp and tangy. The red bliss potato salad was creamy with a hint of dill. The cornbread had the perfect texture and sweetness (not too sweet). The mac ‘n cheese had a velvety texture. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The food and service were both quite good. We left satisfied and happy. Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse is a great place for barbecue in Kihei.

Fat daddy’s smokehouse is overall amazing! Staff is so kind and efficient!! Menu has a large variety of bbq for affordable prices. Most of all the bbq was AMAZING! The ribs had a nice smoke flavor with just the right amount of sauce!! Chicken was tender and very moist and large amount!! If you are a bbq lover this is the place to come!!

Had high hopes and did not deliver. Food wasn’t terrible but definitely not terrific. We split a platter with the brisket and sausage with Mac and cheese as a side. The sausage was really good, brisket was kinda bland and dry. The mac and cheese seemed like glorified Kraft macaroni and cheese. Likely better BBQ places on the island.

Not sure what is going on here. Perhaps they’ve changed owners or cooks, or just had a really off night. For the first time in our lives we took one bite of brisket, 1 bite of ribs, 1 bite of watery Mac and cheese, 1 bite of the garlic beans, 1 bite of potatoe salad and didn’t even bother with the undressed slaw or burnt cornbread. It was terrible, flavorless and everything tasted like it came from a can or a box. We promptly asked for a refund for our entire meal. The server was super kind and said he completely understood and promplty refunded us. We do not reccomend this place at all based on our visit. Our 6 six year old was happy to eat the watery Mac and cheese but we made him Annie’s at home and he agreed it was much better.

I don’t understand ANY negative reviews for this establishment. We’ve been coming here the last three summers when we come to Maui and the food is ALWAYS scrumptious. And the guy that takes our order is always so nice and friendly and helpful! We’re from Texas so I believe we know good bbq. And this is some of the best. On this occasion we had chicken, brisket, ribs, burnt ends, potato salad, cole slaw, and the fabulous cornbread. And the servings are more than enough. We always buy extra to take with us. Thank you Fat Daddys for another 5 star lunch/dinner. It was incredible as always!!!

Chicken had a really good tenderness and flavor. Brisket was a little overdone. Brisket ends weren’t as good as the Food Channel made it out to be. Not to mention a tad overpriced for the flavor.
