Good not impressive. I remember trying Fat Dan’s many years ago when they first opened in broad ripple. The owner was there and he told us about how he came from Chicago which made us even more excited because we are also from northern Indiana and our playground was Chicago. Food, party, bars, concerts, festivals, car shows, just an entire vibe. Let’s not leave out the food. Chi-town has a food game,a vibe in itself. Back to the review. We ordered the best burger we had ever had, the fries were separate, I think that was a new experience for me as at that time most places you could go to a restaurant and at least have an option of ordering combo style. I was relatively new to the area, the prices were a tad bit expensive for just the burger and fries but conversing with the owner, his hospitality and all made the cost worthwhile that day. Fast forward to a location closer to where I live today in Carmel we decided to give it another try with a flashback in mind from the original visit. Chicken wings sound amazing along with pizza, so that’s what we ordered vegetable pizza, smoked chicken wings and a burger. The wake and bake burger with egg on it my daughter said was delightful, the smoke wings were good, even better with sauce and a pizza was decent, the place could have used a little tidying up. It wasn’t crowded at all, staff appeared to be having time to frolic around and fraternize with one another but the place definitely could use some good housekeeping. Service was good, I’m not rushing back though.

Best Reuben in town! Love the loaded fries also. I would’ve given it five stars but the ambience was stale since there was no music playing and you could hear everyone else’s conversations, kind of strange for a bar atmosphere.

Husband and I traveling from MI for baseball tournament, we came across Fat Dan’s looking online for a lunch spot. Chose it based on the great reviews. I can assure you they did not disappoint! The atmosphere was fun and laid back. Our server was awesome suggesting things to try and he had a chill vibe.

Great service even though it was very busy. Burger was super juicy and cooked perfectly I ordered the Avenue burger (I do wish it was seasoned more or had more sauce) I also wish I could’ve had some breadsticks but the pizza station was going to be heating for a while. My boyfriend ordered the NY fat burger and really liked it. Would definitely come back to sample more of this menu!

Amazing food, friendly staff and a surprising neighborhood feel. Some outdoor seating but is a deck area in the parking lot. Has some of the best burgers in Carmel!!! Great selection of locally brewed beers. Dining room and outdoors is family friendly. Fat Dan’s is our families favorite spot to eat in Carmel!

Had the smoked wings and the rabbit pizza crust was crispy topped with a pletura of veggies, my daughter had burger with bacon and an egg on top served with some potato chips on the side. One drawback the food looked wonderful but again there was little seasoning on the chicken or the pizza.
