Our name, Faye & Joe’s Southern Bowl, stems from the matriarch and patriarch of our family. Faye & Joe both passed the torch to their 12+ children, all of whom have various culinary skills, and all of which have come together, to bring to fruition a vision that our founders envisioned.

The food was just okay! I waited in line a buffet line at that for almost 2hrs. The staff was all over the place. They ran out of items and that caused waits. I had beef short ribs,mac,dressing and yams. You get 1 rib for the 25.00 tag that’s with tax. I paid extra for the yams and they taste more like a pie filling. Wasn’t my favorite soul food to have especially after waiting.

I had the turkey wings, mac & cheese with greens. Also, one can of tea. The food was not hot due to wait time to purchase your order. The greens were bland in favor, and the turkey wings were dry. The Macaroni was very good . Sadly, the temperature of food was not hot. The line was long before you were able to order. Wait time 30 min.s. You have to stand in one long line to order, then seat yourself. I will not be back.

This was my first time here and it’s a hit! They have REAL banana pudding! I had catfish, Mac, black eyed peas, green, cranberry sauce, banana pudding, and peach cobbler. Not the biggest fan of the Mac, only because I like to see my cheese pulling from the fork. Theirs is more creamy. I was a little sad my cup of cobbler was the corner and was mostly dough, but it was still good. I will be coming back.

I’ve eaten here several times and they were consistent in the presentation every time. What was most memorable was a birthday celebration that I attended for my Aunt. The buffet was spread, and the food was delectable!! The spaghetti and green beans were so tasty, my little one was asking for leftovers the next day. My favorite is always the catfish, seasoned just right with a crispy crunch in every bite. Don’t forget the collard greens and mac and cheese!! So many delicious sides to choose. The staff offered the southern comfort and hospitality, in a soul food restaurant; nestled in the Southeast Suburbs….

I had nothing shorter than amazing experiences at Faye and Joe’s Southern Bowl! As their slogan states, “Your taste buds will thank you!” I know mine did!!! I honestly do not believe the negative reviews on here. Therefore, I encourage everyone to give them a try for yourselves… My meals and desserts were off the.chain! As a matter of fact, it was soo tasty that I went twice within one week. That joint was popping! All I can say is, Yummy!!! I will be returning!

I was so excited to try this new establishment. I ordered 4 dinners totaling about $90..I’m ok with paying for good food, however- they missed the mark. Catfish was kind of bland. Dressing (my FAVORITE side) was absolutely DISGUSTING. Corn muffins tasted sweet and doughy, short ribs were fatty and salty, string beans had no flavor, meatloaf and sweet potatoes were delicious. The 7up cake had Zero 7up and tasted like it was bought. I don’t plan on visiting here again in the near future.

Faye & Joes was an awesome experience for my family and I! I had Delicious mouth watering ox tails that was falling off the bone, Red beans & Rice that was flavored perfectly, and Some Awesome sweet potatoes that was buttery & sweetened to perfection! My family and I has already returned for more and this time We were able to meet the owners & awesome cook, and we had banana pudding and peach cobbler. I have Now have a new found family at Faye’s and joes southern bowl. I will Recommend everyone to get their own personal experience and give them a try! Trust you won’t be disappointed
