We enjoyed First Friday Downtown last night! All the live music and Pride month recognition was fabulous. We dined at Federal Taphouse State College. The Crab Mac n Cheese was delicious, cheesy creaminess with lots of crab flavor, nice Old Bay Seasoning lightly toasted on top. It would have been nice to have a few bigger chunks of crabmeat, but still was great and more than enough for an entree. Hubby got the Honey Smoke Wings. Tasty smoky sweet flavor on meaty wings; finger licking good! And because it was time to get the weekend started we had cocktails: Kentucky Buck and a Moscow Mule, both were generous, refreshing and a perfect start to Friday night!

They have a TON OF VEGAN OPTIONS. I ordered grain bowl this time. The butternut squash was totally raw, they literally cut it and put it in the bowl, yes hard to believe I know. Anyways, black rice was undercooked but not the end of the world. Tahini sauce was good. Tomatoes were tasty. Previously I ordered their vegan burger too, it was good though but next time I will definitely not order grain salad but sth else. Overall a really good place and nice atmosphere prices are a little on the higher end but again, a good variety of vegan options

Food is very good with interesting daily specials. Service is always great. However, I am continually bothered by the fact that while this is a contemporary, attractive space that makes a pleasant dining environment, finding the tables to be sticky with built up residue is a complete turn- off for me. It is beyond my comprehension why someone does not do a thorough job cleaning the tables? Simply put, this is not a good look.

The expectation was too high, but was disappointed to see such limited food options , and service. The environment is nice and all, they food is freaking smoking expensive, and not that tasty as per my tastebud. Parking is paid on the other side of the road. Nice empty location, anytime for just good date nights

Nice dining room with an elevated view. We were greeted by a friendly staff from start to finish. The condensed menu looked promising, but the food delivered was disappointing. Parmesan Garlic Chicken wings were sauceless and flavorless. Same for the fries. Friends burger and tacos, also meh. Had to ask for salt, which was little help. Seems to be a nice place to have a craft beer and watch tv. For food, never again.

Went here looking for a late bite as we were out of town for youth baseball and had some late games. Not much was open late in this area but we found Federal Taphouse near our hotel. The experience was good. The service, atmosphere and food was good. We had burgers and ordered an appetizer of wings. The wings were sweet Thai or Asian and were good while they were hot. Once they got cold the wing coating gelled and they were not as appetizing and just sticky.

This was the best food I had on our trip to State college. The burger was cooked perfectly at medium rare, tacos were great, and the pizza was tasty. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Out of town, here for work, we conveniently ate dinner there every night, all week. It’s that good and they have plenty of variety. For starters there are well over a few hundred beers, ales, ciders etc to choose from. I even found international favorites (Berliner Weisse) that are rare treats.
