To set the stage for my review, I grew up in Northern NJ in a very itialian neighborhood. I travel a lot for my job and eat out a lot. I’ve also been a server, so I know proper service and etiquette. I dinner here alone. No server came to the table to geet me when seated. After 15 minutes, a tall man with glasses and a mustache finally asked if I was ready to order. He never told me his name. House salad was a strange mix of lettuce and a weird dressing. Not impressed. Bread was cold. Who wants cold bread and butter?? Bread should be lightly toasted and warm. The fried cheese appetizer was not good at all, IMO. Ordered the linguini with white clam sauce, which is one of my favorites. Theirs was not. I make a better recipe than they do. It was not good and very bland. The waiter never came to ask if everything was OK with the dinner. I felt ignored the entire time I was there. Maybe this is good for VA? But for someone who knows real authentic itialian food, this was far from it. Service made the visit worse.

The service was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere gave the authentic Italian feel. I had the stage with meat sauce and a side of Italian sausage. It was amazing! Someone else in my group a the chicken Alfredo. I tried that also amazing, I would definitely return!

I had the chicken piccata, it was fabulous, tender, juicy and the perfect flavor as was the salad and side of pasta. The bread was warm and slightly crusty on the outer edge, just perfect in my opinion. The staff was very attentive and we were so very glad we wondered in our last night visiting DC.

Federico’s is a great place to enjoy excellent Italian food. This place is a regular for many and they know your name. The staff makes you feel like family. I would recommend making it an evening event and enjoy a 5 course meal. Don’t forget the cocktails.

I was really craving lasagna tonight googled Italian near me and this place showed up , I love Italian food and eat it at least 4 times a week . So I ordered take out from this place (lasagna) the guy that answered was polite and asked if i would like the lasagna with meat sauce I said sure he mentioned it came with bread and a salad . Couldn’t wait to eat it . The whole time as i was driving home thinking about this cheesy lasagna smothered with meat sauce ,

Amazing food! Amazing service! Everything was amazing! We went to celebrate my sons birthday. Gino was our server. He was so awesome! Our main course, dessert, wines, and after dinner drinks were all wonderful! We can’t wait to go back! This is a must eat at restaurant!

We enjoy Federico. Tonight Freddie’s was crowded so we walked down the hill to Freddie’s other restaurant. Both of us had the FBI (Full Blooded Italian) and it was rich and delicious. A nice date night. I love that it reminds me of how restaurants used to be. Thanks Freddie!

This is one of the BEST local finds I’ve ever come across. The wait staff (especially Gino!) were observantly attentive, helpful, and gave us the best eating experience we’ve had in a loooong time. The food was phenomenal and they were patient with the dullard (me) trying to order a mixed drink different from his “old reliable.” I’m coming back here anytime I get CLOSE to northern Virginia, even if it’s just on the way.
