I ordered the 2 chimichangas and they were very tasty, I was only able to get through one of them but I had also went through a full plate of the free chips and salsa. The margarita was delicious and really added to the experience.

There are a couple other Felipe’s in Wichita (all still local businesses!), but this one is our favorite. Maybe because this one has been around the longest and the one we have always gone to. But it just feels more cozy/comfortable and the food always tastes better. Even though we live closer to one of the other ones, we still come here. They have the best salsa in town. I could eat it like gazpacho! I am guilty of eating a spoonful or three by itself here and there (shhhh!). My favorite is their chicken enchiladas and chile verde. Sometimes I’ll order a bowl of chile verde to go to have for lunch the next day. My family’s favorite food is Mexican, but we only have 2 favorite local restaurants, and this Felipe’s is one of them. ❤️

I have been going to Felipes on west Central since I was 10yrs old back in 1967 my father loved it are whole family loved it I have been going there ever since when I want to eat the best Mexican food in Wichita I went to the new one out west 1 time just wasn’t as good to me as the 1 on Central I want to say that everything was Great except the food was not the same I ordered a large Felipes special which is like a Monterey or a large tostada usually it is piled high and very fresh this last time it was only inch & a half high I got the feeling that they were pre- made the cheese is usually like fresh grated but on the last one it had got melted enough that it was like one big piece of cheese like I could have grabbed a corner of it & lifted it all off very disappointed it didn’t even taste the same I told my wife she said her platter and everything that had cheese on it the cheese was all crusty I told her well I ate here for 55 years every time they were SPOT-ON Delicious I hope they see this so they can get it straightened out or I will have to look for another #1
