The Syndicate is a great dining option in Moline and the Quad Cities area. The restaurant is situated in the Axis Hotel, which is itself situated in a building built in the 1920s. It honors this heritage by oozing a sleek, modern Art Deco atmosphere with flair and pizazz. Our server Nate was great too – he was very attentive and constantly checked on our table to make sure we all were doing OK. Lastly, the food is delicious! Full of flavor and presented with the same flair that lives within the building, there’s a lot going on within the menu. My only slight complaint is that my mashed potatoes did have some cold spots, but this is a very minor complaint, and in my mind, it is not enough to reduce this review down to 4 stars. If you’re looking for classy dining with a bit of panache, look no further.

We went at 6 on a Friday night, and they were out of the meatloaf when we got there so that was a disappointment. But, overall great food and amazing waitress who was super attentive and kind. The cocktails were phenomenal.

Atmosphere is great. Food was average. The fish is farm raised/price is fair for that though…fried Brussels were great. Tune too! Funny part is that I had to pay for blue cheese olives to pair with my dirty martini. Charged 50 cents an olive…that is completely bizarre, have to say that is the first time in my life I have been charged for olives.

Brian the bartender was great. We had already had dinner, but decided to pop in for a beverage night cap and a light appetizer before heading up for the night. The goat cheese terrine was delicious.

This was a gem and a delight on our stay in the beautiful Axis Hotel. We typically find hotel restaurant to be adequate but not stellar. We had a 5 star experience from the atmosphere, the decor, the staff and the food. Diverse menu and very tasty dishes. The goat cheese appetizer with roasted red pepper, walnut & chives was fantastic!!! Macaroni & cheese always seems odd as an entree but my partner ordered and was probably the best I have tasted!

We decided to give this place a try again hoping it had improved. Unfortunately it’s gotten worse. The shrimp cocktail wasn’t very good, old warm shrimp. Two 20 something bartenders with no experience except being servers. We left & went somewhere else to finish our evening. We’ll probably give them a try in a few months expecting the staff will turn over in all positions by then. Oh well.

Great dinner. The goat cheese app is a must every time. The new shrimp salad my wife got was very good.

Where do I start… I was really looking forward to dinner with my girlfriend but was pretty disappointed. We started with gin martinis, which were great, but she requested blue cheese olives and we were charged $1.50- definitely a first for me. The mussels, nor the sauce, were hot or even warm when arriving- the crostinis were hot though. The rest of the meal was pretty unspectacular too and also not hot- which makes me believe they’re not serving hot dishes on warmed plates. My friend ordered the tuna and I ordered the surf and turf- for $34, you might get 3oz of beef and 3 shrimp. There also seems to be some confusion on whether the seafood is farm-raised or wild. The server was very nice and tried to answer all of my questions, which I truly appreciate. I recommend going for a sandwich or salad but skip the entrees.

Split the French mussels, had the tuna steak, the person I was with had Frutti De Mare, and we each had a cocktail. French Mussels were excellent, Frutti de Marre was more butter than pasta to the point it was inedible, and Tuna Steak and mashed potatoes were really good. Brussel sprouts were super chewy/not cooked all the way through. One cocktail was good the other one tasted like pure lime juice.
