Figaro was suggested by a local while visiting Newbury college. It’s located right next to the Opera House and we were overwhelmingly surprised. It was a bank in the 1920s and they kept the safe doors as part of the decor, adding to the warm and inviting atmosphere.

Quaint and beautiful restaurant. Choose the bowl of she crab soup and a crab cake… Sooo delicious! Crab cake was large and the soup portion was also large with lots of crab. Ate some of the crab cake but added some to the soup for extra decadence. I overheard someone saying the pork was amazingly awesome, cooked to perfection! We were just passing through but I would love to come back here and try more fabulous dishes!

A really nice, clean, upscale restaurant with affordable food. We ordered Beignets as appetizer which could easily be counted as dessert. I got a really nice crab cake burger with really delicious sweet potato fries. My friend got a seafood omelette which was very good as well. The service really good and the restaurant wasn’t too busy for a Saturday afternoon.

Breakfast in newberry sounds like a great idea? Will it was. let’s hit Google and see what is available. Well let’s give Figaro’s a try. And it was a hit! The waiter was very informative and made great suggestions. But it did take a little longer than expected for our order to arrive at our table but it was hot and fresh. The food was delicious and plating was good. Only a few personal peeves keep it from being 5 star. I do recommend for breakfast. And I cant wait to try dinner.

So I decided to take an hour drive from Greenville to Newberry just to try this restaurant for my 5th anniversary. The place is really beautiful and have a great atmosphere. The waiters were super friendly and they told me all the history about the building being the first bank of the upstate on the 50s and I enjoyed the time spent . The food was good and dessert was delicious. There is a lot of space between each table to I enjoyed the privacy. The only thing that was no so nice was the price because I think we paid a lot of money but other than that I think was a really nice experience.

What a beautiful place to stop. Newberry is a quiet adorable town and has good food when we make pit stops on our travel. Figaros (don’t confuse the corner store) was surprisingly good food and ambiance, and professional and friendly service! Would stop again…portions were big! Had to take it with us 🙂
