My meal at Fiorella was a deliciously curated experience from start to finish. My friend and I opted for the community table dining since regular table reservations are difficult to come by. We loved the feel of eating dinner inside someone’s home — the upstairs is small and cozy, while the kitchen is within view of the guests. The two appetizers in our prix fixe menu were delicious and definitely left us ready for more. Amongst the pasta entrees, the ricotta-filled gnocchi and lobster sacchetti were our absolute favorites! Those two dishes were quite possibly the best pastas I’ve ever had. The remaining pasta dishes were also quite good, though I will say that my friend and I both felt the rigatoni was too salty. Last but not least, the upside down plum cake for dessert was also quite good. There was some olive oil drizzled on the plate, which I found a bit confusing in terms of flavor, but otherwise it was a solid dessert. Overall, I thought the community table dining experience was very unique and would love to replicate it with a group of friends next time. I look forward to returning for delicious pasta again!

Incredible fresh made pasta. The cacio and rigatoni are not to be missed. With the latter, the in house sausage is so flavorful and fragrant. I must also mention their delightful Caesar salad.

I love pasta. I love making pasta eating pasta all things pasta. This place is the real deal people. Heard about it via Somebody Feed Phil and it far exceeded our expectations. Staff friendly and accommodating as we got there well before our reservation. Food was next level as well as the service. Nice little touch with the chef personally delivering our first course. Pasta water Martini may be more of an acquired taste but it may just be me, had to try it because it was unique even though I knew vodka was not my favorite spirit. We WILL absolutely be back each time we visit philly. Please bring a satellite to Pittsburgh so we can enjoy it on the regular!!! 10/10

So I tried the communal seating reservation and it was good but nothing amazing. Was not a repeat for me.

The most delicious pasta dishes I’ve had in a long time! Very small intimate place with an open kitchen. You get to see the chefs work their magic! The main focus is the pasta since it is a pasta bar and wow it blew me away! Every thing we ate was fantastic. My favorite would have to be the Gnocchi dish, little pillows of heaven! But you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes! Highly recommend!!

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Rigatoni and Tomato Tart were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. Excellent wine selections. The Ricotta Gnocchi was one the best bites I’ve ever had, especially with the cherries

Another quick trip to Philly with my mom, to see the Matisse show on its last day (Sunday). I found Fiorella mentioned in a story about the best restaurants, and could only get an 8:45pm table outside, so we took it and LOVED our meal. We shared everything: two antipasti and two pasta dishes (all suitable for vegetarians… I hope, but didn’t ask… you may want to confirm). The chicory salad with fennel and charred oranges came out first. It was refreshing and delicious — bitter, sweet, and acidic, with a little bit of salty cheese, for good measure. Not listed: amazing croutons, if that’s your thing. Then, we had the treviso and polenta — rich, creamy, and satisfying (we finished the remaining sauce with our spoons). Next up: cappellacci stuffed with robiola cheese and, I guess, artichokes… I know I saw a leaf in there, but I was more focused on the absolutely perfect ratio of butter and lemon. Then, a glorious pile of marshmallow-like ricotta gnocchi topped with a tangle of crispy shoestring leeks. (I will order anything with leeks, but this preparation was above and beyond! My mouth waters recalling this dish, in particular.) Because everything is ideally portioned, we felt indulgent, but not too full, so we decided to also share a slice of olive oil cake for dessert. It arrived drizzled with chocolate and orange cream and sprinkled with pistachio. YUM! Probably the best olive oil cake I’ve ever had. We devoured it. Great, friendly staff and delicious cocktails, too! (I ordered the Spritz Bianco and my mother had the Brown Butter Old Fashioned.) We were initially disappointed we couldn’t get a couple of the coveted inside seats, in the lively open kitchen, but we didn’t miss out on a thing by sitting outside, as the food stands on its own. Excellent!
