Stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday evening 45 minutes before they closed, the place was empty but the food was delicious! Pretty spendy but an insane amount of brisket with the plates we got. The mac & cheese is the best I’ve ever had at a barbecue joint, and the Texas toast was hot, buttery and grilled to perfection! The cashier was super sweet. Couldn’t quite figure out the ambience, they have TVs with sports on, and the chairs and tables seem fairly new.

The food is excellent, I question If the meat is smoked, I just came back from St. Louis, I know when I taste smoked meat, but maybe they just don’t smoke theirs as long. but my only complaint is where you are getting a meal for 4 to 6 People, they give you small sides, which is not enough to feed 4 to 6 people. They should be giving the large sides with the larger amount of meat. Which really does not make sense to me. Because you have to end up spending more money outside of the package of food to get enough for everyone.

The staff was very kind, and very prompt. The place was Empty–that should have been my first clue. I ordered two meats, two sides, and a drink. For what I got it was WAAAY overpriced. I got 5 ounces of brisket (which was very, very good), 4 Asian-fried chicken wings (not crispy or crunchy), some very good French fries, and a very small serving of collard greens. The dealbreaker for me was the “original barbeque sauce”—the only bbq sauce option, and it tasted like ketchup with extra brown sugar. Much better barbeque sauces, and a better selection (at least two more flavors) would have made this a much better experience. I traveled across St Paul to try this place. Big mistake on my part.

I love brisket and it’s hard to find exceptional, perfectly cooked brisket…I HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT!!! OMG Firebox is EXCEPTIONALLY FANTASTIC on all levels. I tried the ribs, brisket, greens, sweet potatoes, Firebox fries, and egg rolls and everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. And not only was the food amazing but the customer service was just as wonderful. If you love BBQ you HAVE to try Firebox, you will not be disappointed!!
