Treated Myself To a Nice Weekend Late Late Lunch. This place is a little small in a large shopping plaza. It actually replaced a sushi spot that I liked that made a killer baked salmon roll. Okay, okay I’m getting off topic. I had some delicious clam chowder that I would buy Ala Carter to go on other occasions so I already knew it was good. While dining in I had their shrimp garlic noodles and they are very good. My food was great and I love seafood so I was ecstatic when this place finally opened up. They are popular for ordering in and take-out food for dinner time. They open a little late so it’s not possible to eat here early.

So Great! We had the clams in a couple different flavors. My husband ordered one flavor and I asked our server Fe what she recommends and I ordered the Blast flavor. Mine was so much better. We will be back again and again and again!

Buyer beware- my wife and I are pregnant again and for some reason or another our babies love spicy shrimp. We love eating at the boiling crab and had a okay experience at the firehouse in South Sacramento, so we decided to give the zinfandel location a try. To be honest service was great. Food flavoring was good too but when I recieved my check there was a surprise…First off- I dont mind paying the prices that the business is asking, but when I asked my server what the prices were at the beginning of my meal I was told that I’d be paying 15$ per pound of shrimp. My wife didn’t want to eat a whole pound so she asked our server if she could spilt our one pound into two bags. This apparently makes each half pound 11$ per half pound. So for the same pound of shrimp that I was going to be charged 15 in turn became 22$. Well we enjoyed the food and decided to get a pound of shrimp to go the same way in two bags. So I got charged 45 dollars for my 2 pounds of shrimp when our server could have simply ordered 2 pounds of shrimp at 15$ price advertised. I would have not minded paying extra for a plating fee as long as I would have been told about it. Unfortunately I tipped 20% and my bill ended coming out to 85$ for 2 pounds of shrimp a side of wings, with a drink. I take responsibility for not making the connection sooner and contesting the bill. So I give this place a one star because that was shady. And left us feeling taken advantage of. Wife and i don’t even really feel good about eating our take home food.. very sad with the server named Venus L. We will not be returning.

Ugh. This place leaves me so conflicted. The setup, people and the flavors and the food were great. But being what seemed understaffed the awesome waiter we had got a few things confused in our order nothif deal breaking but our flavors got mixed up and the to go order of shrimp we grabbed was also double the size it was supposed to be. That being said. Add another person to help with lunch rush and i imagine that will make it a muh smoother operation. Debateable if i would return as i would prefer to have what i ask for when paying.

Foods good sauce flavor need improvement ,also staff moves slowly and take awhile before they take you order. I also noticed the shop didn’t have there AC air on it was hot and stuffy in side.I would still recommend the boiling Crab over firehouse.

Been here twice. This place is small with a lot of tables so not the quiet type of ambience you’ll get especially if you come on weekends. The first time I went was around the time they first opened. My wife and i were impressed with the food. The service is decent. It’s nice they have different level of spiciness. The second time we went here 06/21, not so much impressed. The food had flavor but was just a bit “too much flavor” because it felt too salty, garlicy, and oily to the point where it felt artificial and unhealthy. We had the garlic noodle, shrimp and crawfish. This might sound funny but if they could just cut down on the flavor and oil and concentrate on making it more healthy and natural, this place would have been totally worth it. I read other reviews talking about their inconsistency with the food and with my second time here i would agree. It may be because of a different chef, i don’t know. You’ll get your hands messy here so definitely not the type of place for a date night. If you really care about eating healthy, then this place may not be worth going. If you crave for spicy seafood, then this place may be worth a try.
