I have to say I’m very disappointed. I used to go to this restaurant every week with my father, and it has really gone downhill. But nothing irks me more than getting all the way home and discovering that my drink, which is supposed to be a sweet cream soda, is actually just bubbly water. Of course I’m all the way home and can’t do anything about it so I guess I get no drink. Paid for it, just don’t get to drink it. And now they want a tip just for doing their job. It’s not like they bring the food to your table, or clear your table away when you order your food to go. Or clean any of the crumb-covered tables. But of course you’re afraid that they’re not going to make your order right if you don’t give them a tip. I’m just not going to eat out anymore. Or if I do, it certainly won’t be here at this Firehouse in Julington Creek.

Dining room was dirty. Every table was unclean and had to wipe off our own just to have a place. Not bust enough to have been this dirty. They POS system had the balls to ask for a tip! I had to clean my own table, make my own drink, get my own food and bus my own table afterwards. They should tip the customer.

Associate taking our order was curt and NOT newbee friendly. I asked for a courtesy cup and he told me they had none. A manager intervened and gave me a cup. Food was great and the place was being continuously cleaned.

Firehouse in my opinion is one of the best places to get a sub in town, especially since I prefer hot sandwiches over cold sandwiches. I highly recommend the Hook & Ladder, the Engineer, the NY Steamer or the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar, but really everything is good here. Also try the datil pepper sauce!

My experience with firehouse subs has been 5 star for years but today dashed it to pieces! We emailed our order and paid on line. 15 minutes later arrived and it wasn’t ready which is no big deal as I could see they were quite busy on this particular Sunday afternoon. But 35 minutes later my order still had not been prepared and after several polite inquiries they acknowledged that they had the order but nothing happened. They were completely caught up wiping down counters and 1 young man ran as fast as he could to fulfill the order. My wifes hook and ladder was cold again I’ve always had great service at this establishment but I guess the lesson here is don’t call in your order.
