The food being absolutely outstanding. My son had the really good burger, which was better than really good. I had chicken mac & cheese, which also was quite delicious as was the truffle and mushroom mac & cheese. However I must say what put this restaurant over the top for us is the service. Which was top-notch. My wife ordered the grilled salmon salad, which unfortunately had a slight allergen issue, not the fault of the restaurant. The staff immediately took the dish to correct the issue, and to ensure that my wife had something to eat while we all ate they brought her a bowl of seafood chowder while she waited for her salmon salad. This gesture showed that the restaurant truly cares about their customers and wants to make sure that they have a good experience. We found this restaurant by chance after a eight hour car ride from Maine and a 1 1/2 hour ferry trip across to Long Island. I can say it was our first time, but certainly not our last time to go to this wonderful restaurant.

5 STARS all the way! 10 out of 10! The food was fantastic there wasn’t a single dish I didn’t like. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. You can tell they take pride in every thing they do especially thier food. Three different starters 2 entrees and a dessert. All the flavors worked perfect together I wish I lived closer. This would be a go to spot!

I would eat here a second time, a third time, a fourth time… fantastic. My first shout-out will have to be the triple-blanched fries. I have never, ever, had a better fry. I’m sure that sounds not particularly exciting, but if you get them you’ll understand.

5 stars for being open. I visited Greenport on Labor Day for 2 nights and every other establishment in the town was closed, really lame. But First and South was open and even had live music by a singing guitarist! The food and the service was great! Bonus points for having a NA Beer! The kale salad was good enough without the protein, and the dessert selection was yummy. We had the banana bread and homemade ice cream with sprinkles. Good food. Good service.

They are open on Tumbleweed Tuesday’s with live music, a great bar, low lighting and loud tunes. Had the mac and cheese, yummy! The whole staff takes care of you, it’s a great team environment, beautiful in and out and they have Polynesian parties several nights a week. A must visit!!!
