Love the location, right off 69 highway. The waitlist is amazing so that you don’t have to hang around waiting for a table. The environment is warm and inviting with seating options from regular style tables to booths by the window where people from outside watch you eat (lol). The staff is always helpful, providing recommendations on some of the best dishes they offer. The experience is always welcoming.

This establishment was amazing. The staff was great and patient. I watched a “Karen” complain about the wait (because he didn’t have a reservation) and the manager handled it like a boss. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience and will not return. When cutting into the poached eggs, an alarming amount of water gushed out filling the plate with clear water from poaching. I’ve never seen that before, the rest of the dish was just oily and salty. The server was kind enough to have them make a new one, but appetites were lost and we didn’t even eat it at that point. Nothing was comped, and left hungry. A huge waste of money, over priced for the quality we got. We have gone a few times and every time it is a disappointment but this was the worst, not trying it again.

So…I have been eating at first watch for years. The Olathe and College locations always offer prompt service with good quality dining. Not so much for the south Overland Park location. I’ve eaten there twice in the last month and I am absolutely amazed at the quality of food that they served me both times. I would give this location negative stars if I could, they should be ashamed. There won’t be a third time.
