The Fitzgerald is one great place to eat and to stay overnight. The room we had was amazing! The view was beautiful. All the rooms face Lake Superior, so you can’t go wrong. Don’t forget to make a reservation or order take-out, for the most amazing, fresh ingredient, creatively prepared meals and cocktails anywhere in the peninsula, bar none. This was our second visit to the Fitzgerald in 9 years, and it has only gotten better. From Detroit but it is totally worth the drive for the lodging, the food and the view.

Enjoying the Fitz is one of our favorite experiences each year. Tonight was no exception. We started with the pickled veggies and the walleye cake. The walleye cake was probably the best appetizer I’ve ever had. Then I had the whitefish and my husband enjoyed a special — smoked prime rib. For dessert, we each picked pie that was fantastic. Also, the Spanish gin and tonic was so good!

All the food I’ve had here is fantastic. Bbq is their specialty, so get something with meat. The vibe is intimate and cozy, and the views are spectacular. Very few tables–reservations required.

Very nice place in a beautiful location! The atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful. The view from our table was fantastic over looking Lake Superior. The waitress was very kind and wonderful. And the food was fantastic. I had the brisket sandwich, which came as a perfect serving size, the brisket meat was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of moisture and was one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Will definitely visit again!

We just returned from the Keweenaw Peninsula where we dined at Fitzgerald’s Restaurant on Lake Superior two nights in a row. Both evening’s proved to be exceptional. The food is superior (excuse the pun), and the service was terrific. Our waitress, Amy was attentive, fun, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the are. Kudos to Amy. I highly recommend this restaurant for an outstanding dining experience. The atmosphere is casual and laid back with an elegant menu and wine list.

We were seated promptly. Our server was Olivia & her service was excellent. Ribs, brisket & whitefish were delicious. Walleye cake for an appetizer was outstanding. The price for 3 dinners, appetizer, drinks & dessert was very reasonable. A small place on the water so make a reservation. We will be back.

Located inside the Eagle River Inn. I’ve waited a very long time to visit and finally made it up. It didn’t disappoint. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had the Umami Fries, the Risotto Fritters and the Bourbon Pecan Pie. All were fantastic. It’s a fabulous location right on Lake Superior. Maybe next time I’m up here I’ll stay at the Inn too.
