The ribs – Fall off the bone delicious. So tender. Melt in your mouth didn’t even need extra sauce. Corn bread also great. The view was perfect. The beer choices were amazing!

Went for lunch on a summer weekend day and sat on the deck. We enjoyed the brisket sandwich and broccoli cheddar bites. This is a nice place to enjoy the scenery of the lock, cold cocktails or brews, and have some solid food all around. This is a down to earth place where food and drinks are good and prices are very reasonable.

I’ve never had anything but excellent experiences here. Just went again last night with the family (and dog!) and felt the need to finally write a review. The food is excellent, including the BBQ fare. I had their wings for the first time last night, and I’m not exaggerating when I say they were the best wings I’ve ever had. Selection overall is great, and the prices are very reasonable – especially the mixed drinks, which tend to be marked up ridiculously at most other restaurants. Our server (Jordan?) was phenomenal and handled the full deck area with exactly the right amount of attention and impeccable accuracy. To top it off, the location is great, situated right alongside the canal.

I’ve been coming to the Fitz since I was a teenager, but this was by far the best experience I’ve had which says a lot since I’ve been a longtime customer anyway. The inside of the restaurant’s renovations have perfectly maintained the history and cozy rustic feeling of the building while being modern enough and tasteful. The staff is incredibly nice and friendly, service was great, and the food and drinks were incredible. Zero complaints and I would absolutely recommend to anybody.

Second time here. Same nice service. You get to watch people canoeing, ride bikes, and waking trail. you can feed the turtles and fish. They even had free food to feed the fish and turtles. Canoes are for rent along with tubing. Great food. Fair prices. I recommend.

We love walking down to the Fitz for lunch or dinner, but I’m just now writing a review to rave about their catering. We ordered pans of BBQ pork and brisket and cole slaw for a graduation party and it was SO GOOD. Everyone asked where we got it from – it was such a hit. It was easy to order, the order was generously filled, and ready when we said we’d be there to pick it up. They brought it right out to my car (I do suggest you have a cooler or at least some kind of boxes or containers to carry it in – I had boxes from BJ’s that worked well). I don’t know when I’ll have a party that size again, but I will definitely order catering here again. In the meantime we’ll be back to eat delicious lunches and dinners on the deck overlooking the beautiful, historical Schuylkill canal.
