So I came here with my friends late at night, everything went okay while we were there. The service and the atmosphere were alright. But here’s the thing…a few hours later back at my dorm I woke up feeling awful. A painful stomach ache and really bad nausea. I’m not gonna go into detail about everything bc it’s too TMI but yeah, ig it’s all self interpreted. The burger I got tasted okay but the fries were saggy, I still don’t know what got me food poisoning. Please be careful or try avoiding eating here

Great burger and fries as usual. Staff was very polite and made for a good experience.

Service was amazing! But after everything we have heard about this place, I was expecting more. The starter of gnocchi was nice, but nothing memorable. The pasta was over-salted my partner described it as “upscale pastaroni.” The short rib dish tasted similar to something I’ve made in the crockpot. The pork cheeks were great but nothing special. Nothing really stood out for the price. And the astronomical egregious up charge on bottles of wine definitely downgrade the experience. Was everything good? Sure. Was everything worth the price? Absolutely not.

This one felt like highway robbery. The burgers were a tad more expensive than I was hoping for, so being a reasonable middle class person, I opted for the grilled cheese which was about half the price. Now this grilled cheese was just over $5. Being a reasonable individual, I assumed this would be a significant grilled cheese, either in portion or at least in quality. Five dollars should be able to buy you a lot of bread and cheese. lt does not. This “grilled cheese” was more disappointing than if my 8 year old nephew bought bread and cheese at a store and made it himself. Let me paint a picture. The cheese tasted like the plastic Kraft kind, which in and of itself is not a big deal, but for how little there was, and how much I paid, it was a let down. Low quality cheese for sure, but cheese is pretty dope so it’s no big deal. Next the overall bread size. Because if you load a big Sammy with cheese and grill to perfection, that’s a good grilled cheese. Maybe I just got the butts of the loaf, but that sandwich was so small I ate it in like 4 bites. My aforementioned nephew wouldn’t have even been full from that, much less a grown man. Now to be fair, it was grilled to perfection and the grilled onions helped significantly. But if the onions are the highlight of the sandwich? I beg Five Guys to reconsider their stance on the grilled cheese here. I coulda made 10 of these sandwiches of the same quality for $5 by just going to the grocery store.

Food had good flavor like always. Fries were not quite done enough. Daughters bacon cheese dog bacon was burnt. Restaurant was kind of dirty. It took them 3 times to actually get our order correct while ordering. I finally had them delete order and start over. Long wait on getting food.

Five Guys is overrated with too much hype. Maybe it might be West Lafayette’s Five Guys that has the problem, but I kind of think that their burgers are worse than a quarter pounder deluxe burger from McDonald’s. As a hamburger maniac, I’m really disappointed.
