A funny thing
We’re from Texas and when we saw they were opening a Five Guys in Cedar Falls we were excited! It was packed, being newly opened, so we ordered our burgers to go. We love their messy smash burgers, so fresh and full of flavor. We always order our fries without salt because sometimes the fries can get salty. Just ask and they make them fresh without salt. So good!

Great atmosphere with a friendly and high-energy staff. Food is as fresh as it gets; they say they have no freezers, only coolers, with meat delivered 3 times a week. The fries are expensive, but you get almost two whole potatoes worth! My burger was buried in fries, haha! They’re handmade from whole potatoes in the restaurant and fried only in quality peanut oil. The burger was juicy and well-cooked, and they don’t skimp on the cheese. The bacon was properly crisped too, not chewy like Burger King or McDonalds.

I was so excited to see there was a Five Guys in Cedar Falls! I had never been there and just had to go. I was surprised to see such modern amenities. The inside was so cute. And that was just the start. The order to build your own burger was superb. I opted for mayo on my sandwich with veggies. I kept it simple and just ordered a cheeseburger, fries and soda. I was taking it to go, but I didn’t even make it out of the parking lot before finishing the burger! I am a burger aficionado, this place is a 10! The fries were an added bonus as well. Made fresh and a portion for 3 for a small! I will definitely be going back soon!

So we went to five guys this Saturday. It was extremely loud in there You could not hear the person taking your order. You cannot hear your number being called. When we got our food the french fries were so soggy. The bag was full of grease all over the sides from the soggy french fries. The fries had zero salt zero flavor and they looked and tasted like they were baked and then soaked in oil. We got one burger and there was no flavor on that burger either it was a bacon cheeseburger. It was bland. And for one burger and a regular fry, it was $21. I could have got better food at Burger King with a lot more flavor than this company has. 100% disappointed in all of it all around.

I’ve heard so much about this restaurant and how good the food was. Stopped in and the atmosphere was welcoming at first. When I went to order, not so much. I’ve never been to a five guys and didn’t know what to expect. Everything is separate when it comes to your food, drink and fries. All separate prices. I got a basic burger with onions. The cup of fries and a drink. For 2 of us it was $55. The burger…… No seasoning or flavor other than the onions. I was rather disappointed. Went a second time thinking/hoping it was better. Flavor was the same. The soda machine had several flavors that didn’t work, we had an order to go which the app said was done. I waited 15 mins after to get our meal that wasn’t done… I won’t be going back.

Had a good experience. I’d rate it 5 stars, although as far as value goes I think it’s a little overpriced for what it is. It is pricey for what it is. My burger was excellent. The “small” or single-patty burger was enough for me and is a few dollars cheaper than the regular double-patty version.
