As far as Indian lunch buffets go, Five Rivers is the only restaurant that offers it in the Westlake area for $15 (M-F 11am-3pm.) The buffet items were not labeled and I wasn’t sure what I was eating. So, my tip is, only get a little of each in the first round, in case you don’t like chickpeas or lamb. Service was abysmal. I asked for naan bread but never got it. Maybe they didn’t want me to fill up on bread? Other people got naan though. So jealous. You refill your own water at the soda machine or fill up on the milk tea dispenser. As far as the food, it wasn’t spicy as I thought it would be. The chicken masala, tandoori chicken, samosa were my favorites. The other stuff were OK. I checked-in on Yelp but didn’t get a coupon. The cashier gave me 10% off for trying.

Hidden gem, just 15 min drive from San Francisco for Indian and Punjabi food. The lunch buffet on weekdays is incredible. I sampled over 10 dishes and everything was delicious and flavorful. Cooked by Indian people who know what authentic flavors are supposed to taste like, this is my new favorite Indian restaurant.

Five Rivers Indian Cuisine restaurant is one of my favorite places to take out dinner; located in Westlake in Daly City is convenient; The food is delicious, a bit spicy, authentic Indian, and fresh made; they bake the naan in a traditional tandoor oven. The price is right; I recommend this place 100% is very busy special on the weekends.

I am a novice when it comes to Indian food, however the food here was exceptionally tasty and though it took some time to prepare, it was worth the wait. I believe they do a pretty heavy take-out service, so quite possibly affecting speed of service. There were only three or 4 tables seated during my visit but there was a lot of activity in and out the door. It was a cold evening and the restaurant seemed like it was not heated, which with the door open made it a little uncomfortable. When the food came, my attention was diverted as it looked and smelled fabulous. If you’ve never had Indian food before and were trying for the first time, you would get a great first impression here. Give it a try. Price was reasonable as well, for the quality of the food!
