From the second I walked through the door I knew we made the right choice. The hospitality at Flapjacks is outstanding and the food is amazing. Our waiter Justin was very attentive to our table and helped suggest some great meals. The restaurants’ signature flapjacks are HUGE. (Flapjack=Pancake, for those of you who are unaware). Justin made sure to keep our table full of STEAMING maple syrup as we quickly pounded through our flapjacks. The food is also a very affordable and for the price it is unmatched. If you plan to good ol’ Flapjacks make sure Justin is working because he is a G. J-man hooked us up with a free complimentary picture (See below)! This restaurant also has multiple restrooms just in case you all need to go at the same time. The only negative aspect of this place is that its an hour from my house, but that won’t stop me from some classic jacks!

We went in for dinner Sunday evening. It was over an hour before close, yet the salad bar clearly had been neglected for a long time. There was essentially no lettuce left, and it was very messy. The menu had very few healthy selections, which is a bit surprising in this day and age. I will say the service was very good and the staff was very friendly and cordial.

Food was completely adequate, but probably didn’t match the price point considering no side is included. Nothing appeared to be house made, which is fine, but worth noting. We were forgotten and didn’t get it drink order taken for almost 20 minutes, after we alerted an employee. If I lived here, I’d probably give it another shot. One highlight, they do have sweet tea.

The food is great and most of the staff are very friendly, however, their prices are a tad high. Still really good food though! I recommend their biscuits and gravy for breakfast and patty melt or Monterey with home chips (or fries) for lunch or supper.

It seems strange to go to a place named Flapjack restaurant when you’re not ordering pancakes , so this review may not be 100% on point. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder though. Overall we had a good experience here. Free-flowing coffee, decent sandwiches, salad bar which was adequate overall for what we could have expected from the area. It is surprising how many people that I have talked to about my car trip that I had to take, and that I mentioned this restaurant to, know exactly what I’m talking about. Flapjack is just a fun word that sticks in your memory I suppose.

We live about 3 hours from Flapjacks and ironically our hometown… which is 6 hours North of our current home in Central Illinois, is exactly the same distance from the restaurant. So we stop there quite often! When we visit home, we’ll stop for a late breakfast or lunch, yet it doesn’t matter what time of day it is if you love breakfast. .. It’s served all day! They have wonderful food at exceptional prices. We also use Flapjacks as a meeting place after someone from our family has visited up north. It’s destination directly off the Hwy/Interstate is perfect location! They even have some Picnic Tables on the lawn across the parking lot. location so close to other businesses is also a plus! Most importantly… Great Food & Friendly staff!

Dinner takeout was meh. I ordered the turkey bacon WRAP with Swiss and a side of fries. Opened the container to do d turkey bacon sandwich on white toast, no cheese. Sandwich was at least decent. Fries were bland. Pickle slices were pretty good, though! Maybe this place is better with breakfast.
