Ordered the 5 taco sampler. Great tacos, although a bit on the small side. Large menu though and I did not explore much. Great concept in the “mess hall” approach. Other restaurants available along with a relaxed atmosphere with some game options.

my friend brought me a few tacos from here (birria, al pastor, and chicken) and WHEW! they were amazing! the sauce was so good and the tortillas were … i don’t even know how to describe them… so unique and clearly homemade? definitely recommend!!

We went to the Mess Hall for the first time today with 3 adults and 1 preteen who can be a finicky eater. We wanted everyone to be able to choose their own meal adventure. I opted to get the Fonda Moderna tacos guisados flight, mango orange agua fresca, and nachos to share. Fresh tortilla chips and a serve-yourself salsa bar were also included and enjoyed! (If a spot doesn’t have bomb chips and salsa, is it even trying?)

Since discovering Fonda Moderna a few months ago we’ve eaten here at least 20 times. Yesterday was the first day we remembered to take a picture before gobbling up all our food! Best guac and best tacos in town!! We love the chicken tinga, mushroom, and guac tacos. They also make a dang good quesadilla with rice and beans for kids. I found this place in Google maps, and since there isn’t any other taco spots around I thought I’d give them a try. The tacos are authentic and tasty. Kayla was the cashier who took my order and she was right these are the best tacos ever! She has great customer service & personality, Kayla made me feel so welcome that I would definitely be back.

There should be a sixth star for this place… We had Kobe beef, tacos, and hanger steak tacos… Along with spectacular guacamole. Everyone of us wanted more. The Wagyu beef was absolutely melt in your mouth… An amazing culinary experience. And the hanger steak had such a different consistency and flavor… unbelievably wonderful food… A Gormans delight! I wish I could give it seven stars because 4.1? That’s ridiculous. This place is world class food!

Honestly just the service from the young female cashier made me want write a review. She was just super sweet, kind, looked you straight in the eyes and very willing to go out of her way to give you excellent service. I feel if people had an experience like that every time they went to eat Everyone would be less miserable all the time. Sometimes it’s the little things that count. Made my day!

In my opinion this is on par with some of michelin rated mexican restaurants I’ve been to. I appreciated the very labor intensive recipes used to give a very surprising and fun dinning experience in a food court setting. The best shrimp burrito I have ever had. Fish tacos and shrimp tacos are designed to bring out the seafood taste (you do have to ask for the freshly squeezed lemon juice). Not bready or greasy like other taco places. yes it is a bit pricey but worth the culinary delight. Best value is the guisado tacos sampler. Amazing experience. Thank you.
