I almost feel ashamed that I used to live within walking distance to this establishment and never knew about it. Thank goodness I am still not too far. Sadly, I feel like there aren’t too many solid soul food places uptown that consistently answer the phone and / or have really good food. This place has both. Pictured is Swai, macaroni salad and string beans(so good) not Pictured are my kids’ burgers they loved them, and my husband’s catfish also very good. I shed a small tear because they were sold out of banana pudding lol.. Basically if you haven’t been do yourself a favor and go!!

Against better judgement I gave Food From The Heart another try. Food was absolutely horrid. The whiting I ordered had absolutely no taste, the yams were even worse than the fish and had a burnt tint and taste, & the Mac & cheese was lazily made. It’s a shame that businesses like this don’t appreciate their customers hard earned money. In order to remain on business, the quality of food must exceed expectations beyond the first day of business. I will guarantee that I will never support or recommend this business.

This food was horrible it was the worst soul food that I have ever tasted in my 49 years of living and my fiancé pulled apart his hard fried requested chicken And it was pink on the inside and slimy. The string beans taste like they were soaked in vinegar and were so soggy like they sat overnight and were just warmed up. Also, I don’t know if they ran out of cheese or they are trying to stretch but the macaroni and cheese was worse than boxed macaroni and cheese no frills an expired. I will never in life eat from this establishment again. 33$ Down the drain. Do not waste your time or money eating here you have been warned.look at them acne cheese it looks seasoning with Mrs Dash

I was sold on the name alone because this is what I was raised on not just Food from the Heart, but everything I know from the Heart will for sure produce Marvelous results. Because, anything associated with the Heart comes by way of Love. The food was Delicious!!. My family & I traveled from Center City after a co-worker from the area spoke of how good the food was. We were equally as pleased, and it was well worth our travel. We had everything from the Fried fish, Ribs, Chicken, Seafood Salad and more. Love! Loved! Loved it. The Atmosphere and Customer Service was Great!! We passed the word along and we’ll definitely be back.

First time…meal was ok. Collard greens, yams, grilled salmon and corn muffins were excellent!!! Fried whiting fish had bones and tasted like frozen whiting in a bag —-the seasoning was good.

First time ordering from here. This location has changed names multiple times. I should of known as soon as I walked in to not expect much. It doesnt smell like anyone is getting down in the kitchen. My sides were lukewarm and its crazy because I waited 15-20 minutes for it. The bbq beef ribs were alright its smoked. The collard greens were good. The string beans were nasty like mush and salty I guess you can say overcooked. The potato salad my husband was not a fan and neither was I. And the reviews about the mac and cheese was accurate dry and just a no. The bbq chicken was dry, salty and tasted to me it was old. Yams were okay weird after taste. Just a disappointment overall and feel like I wasted my money $50 for two beef rib platters. And we actually drove a little way to try it out. Wont be a returning customer especially if Tasting it in the car I knew I would have to reheat my food. Im kinda upset but will try not waste my food. Ughhhhhhh

I’ve ordered food several times, and the food is usually good. Today, not so much. The chicken smelled as if it was cooked in old oil. My salmon was beyond charred but burned. Furthermore the male who took the order today is extremely rude, short, & unprofessional. Please learn to be welcoming and respectful towards your customers. You are not doing customers a favor by your business being supported. I placed a large order and because of his demeanor, I truly considered canceling the entire order. I want to spend my money where I am welcomed and treated with respect.

Today they ha me on hold for 15 mins just to order . One hour later they had my wife on hold for 15 mins just to order. Mind you never put the order in from being on hold so long. They just kept taking orders from walk-in people even though I called first . They need help. They need to hire staffing

I highly recommend eating here. First the CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EVERYTHING. Very professional and thorough (repeated my order back to me, informed me of my total, gave me an ETA) I went to the establishment, it was clean and organized. Now the FOOD! I ordered catfish, string beans, cabbage & seafood salad. It was flavorful. I am so satisfied with my food and I am a very picky eater. The portions was great as well. Another thing! The vegetables aren’t made with pork! I will definitely be supporting this business again
