Ok, so I will admit from the outside, Formosa looks like a middle of the road Cafe…..BUT, it is not! The menu is small, but the food is fantastic. Try this restaurant! The chef is passionate, and the food is good. I brought my family and enjoyed the beef noodle soup, the black pepper steak, and the seafood trottole and cheese. The beef noodle soup is very hearty and has the most rich and delicious flavors. The pepper steak was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and seasoning. The seafood trottole was cooked better than I suspected. The scallops and shrimp weren’t overdone. In fact, the seafood must have been cooked separately, then added to the cream sauce because it wasn’t chewy or overdone and with perfect flavor. The cream sauce was perfectly creamy with amazing aromatics and hints of garlic and other herbs. After dinner, we received a complimentary plate of delicious brownie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. In all, I was very happy with my experience and will be back. In fact the word hasn’t gotten out about this little gem of a restaurant, so it’s not all that busy….so for a nice quiet little breakfast, lunch or dinner spot, check out Formosa!

Ate here late in the day and was VERY HAPPY with the food and service. We both got Breakfast Burritos and they were perfectly prepared and tasted fantastic. Their prices are not the cheapest however we both got two meals out of the burrito so hard to argue with that. Everything was fresh and made to order. The best all-day breakfast place in Gig Harbor? Certainly the best in Uptown area!

In todays age if I am going to allow someone to cook for for me, it will cost 2x or 3x more than if I cooked for myself. So, I like to choose places where I get something more than just good food. I want a pleasurable experience. This place is top notch in gig harbor. Great Asian fusion options and flamboyant drinks. Service was kind, helpful/knowledgeable staff. Great for the coming summer season.

Anna was our server… She deserves a raise. Very knowledgeable, funny, and happy to help… I ordered a black pepper ribeye steak. It was excellent. Reminded me of dinners I used to get in Japan. The orange black tea had a waterfall like Guinness and it was the best. I’ll be coming back soon.

My wife and I were happy to discover this delightful, very friendly , relatively new restaurant in our city. The food was very fresh, cooked perfectly and at reasonable prices. I had a chicken parmesan paninni, my wife had a chicken curry. The portions were generous, and presented in a beautiful manner. We were met upon arrival by one of its owners who seated us courteously. It was well past the time of day I will usually drink a caffeinated beverage, but was looking forward to a nice bubble tea to go along with my meal. The owner/ waiter suggested a herbal orange bubble tea, that turned out to be dazzling in appearance, and absolutely delicious in taste, as was our food which arrived promptly. As an older fellow I appreciate a clean, comfortable restroom, in this I was not disappointed either. They do have a few tables set up outside to provide a relaxed outdoor dining experience as well. It’s menu provides dishes from around the world.

We stopped in with our family of 5 today and we’re quickly pleased. The service was prompt and attentive, our kids really enjoyed the variation of tea drinks. I had the pasta with shrimp and scallops, it was so good! Pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce was rich and full of flavor, the side of veggies were fresh and the bread was a nice add on. My girls had the breakfast sandwich which they both really loved. The portions are big, each breakfast dish came with a side of fruit, papaya, pineapple and such that was freshly cut. My only two recommendations is this: my son ordered the omelette, he suggested chopping up the veggies inside of it and adding some more flavor. My husband enjoyed his Philly Cheese steak sandwich but was confused as the sandwich had marinara sauce on it. Philly sandwiches should not have marinara, it also came with cheese sauce which was tasty but the meat is usually smothered with cheese on these sandwiches. Also he mentioned that the meat was not chopped up, so he would take a bite and pull out a big slice of steak. I’m not trying to sound critical but just want to give some tips! This is a lovely place with a limited menu but all items are fresh and very tasty! We will be back!

This is a hidden gem! It is a gorgeous restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. From the outside I expected just a small Cafe. When you walk in it is quite large with seating upstairs and styled so pretty with chandeliers and all. Service was superb, I did order take out but the server was so attentive while I was there. Food was great too. We got the breakdown burrito meal. It was the best breakfast burrito I have had in a long time. Super fresh tasting. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and cook it all when ordered not beforehand. Definitely recommend this place.
