If you are ever passing through Ft. Laramie and have a big appetite, make sure to stop by the Fort Laramie American Grill, where the delicious food portions and patriotism are as big as the friendly Wyoming welcome you will receive from the owners Alexander and Donna. PS. Make sure to check out Donna’s beautiful artwork for sale as well. #thewanderingvolpis

Holy cow! The food is amazing! We got the pancakes, French toast, chicken fried steak with gravy, ham breakfast. It was so good, we wished we could come back for dinner. We are traveling and this is a must stop. The service is good and polite. Don’t want to miss place to eat is my point.

This place is unassuming, but it’s perfect for travelers who are interested in unique American dining experiences. I ordered the sweet steak and bacon sandwich, after it came highly recommended by the owner. He would know best, and did – because that sandwich is incredible. If you don’t eat here before or after visiting Fort Laramie, you’ll be missing out. The interior is comfortable and charming, and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. I really do wish I lived closer!

The cafe (mom n pops) place was great the food was amazing the owners take pride in what they do and are very knowledgeable about the area. I loved visiting with them and learning about the area. They have photos of stars and locals on the walls and they would be more then happy to tell you about them. A great place to stop and eat and try the raspberry tea it hits the spot if your thirsty! Even if your not hungry just stop by to visit and get to know the area. I will be back for sure!

Our wonderful lunch at the American Grill in Fort Laramie is a reminder not to judge a book by its cover. The outside is shabby. Inside, we were treated to good sandwiches and homemade chicken vegetable soup. Great taste. Good price. It was surprising to hear the owners (a husband and wife) speak in New England accents. We loved hearing about their journey to the wide open spaces of Wyoming.
