My problem is with the delivery driver. She apparently took my number down wrong cause we waited and waited for a call our food was on the way. After awhile I called back to see what was taking so long and she said I called three times in a sassy tone. My phone didn’t ring. Nevertheless the biggest issue here is she left my food on the ground in the parking lot where I work. Are you kidding after I even tipped you?! That to me was a slap in the face.

I took my dad here for Father’s day since we were out for the day and ready for lunch. Based on the star rating and number of reviews, we thought it would be decent. And when we pulled up and saw a full parking lot, we were even more hopeful. But then we got inside. It was very crowded. We noticed the sign to seat ourselves. There was only one table open and it was dirty (which they did clean before taking our order). We placed our order and got our food. The quality was TERRIBLE! The brisket was dry, crumbled (not melted), and tasted like ash. My dad got the 3 meat combo. It cost $17.50 and based solely on the amount of food he got, it was only worth less than half of that! Overall, it was a HUGE disappointment and we will not be back.

Update: I had the Real Rib Sandwich with fries. It was delicious! A real smoky flavor that is much better than any fast food sandwich. The staff greeted us warmly and our food was ready in little time. Overall I enjoyed my visit and plan to return.

For breakfast, this place is pretty unbeatable in Keokuk. I ordered the ManCountry breakfast and could barely dent the mountain of breakfast on the plate! I’ve been back a few times, it is always busy for a reason.

These are the places you get the best food. Little mom and pop BBQ shacks. Prices are reasonable and lower. You’ll know it’s a real BBQ when the smoker is right there.
