Not your stereotypical American style Chinese restaurant. Veggies are an actual part of the meal, not just decorative. Not overcooked, could use more seasoning. I ordered szechuan chicken but really couldn’t taste any szechuan peppercorn. Still the flavors were good. They don’t accept card payment which was a little annoying, but they spotted me the $0.50 I was short. Would definitely recommend, especially to people that think typical American style Chinese food is too heavy.

Food was awful honestly; chicken was dry, wontons were dry, noodles and rice were dry. Only reason this is getting a 2 star review is because the order was on time and the egg rolls (fairly good) were massive.

Seems like they need to start putting more love into cooking. It’s too starchy and thick. Just not the chow mein I like, pretty odd looking. Rice was Hard. Just nasty. The only thing I’d ever get from there is the aromatic chicken. I hope it’s real chicken

I’m not sure it’s because I’m grew up in Farmington with 2 of the best Chinese restaurants in the state but this was the nastiest food I have ever ate. I like to consider myself a garbage disposal of food that can guzzle down anything but I just couldn’t eat the food I was served. There were bones and ligaments in my uncooked, leathery chicken. Egg roll was soft and mushy. Even the fortune cookie was stale. Only plus side is I now can say there is something in this world I cannot eat and that is their food. Do yourself a favor and go to mei wei or Chang’s in Farmington and experience good food.

Fortune Cookie has quickly become my favorite place to get Chinese takeout from in Hastings. We have four Chinese restaurants within a 5-mile radius and this one is by far the best – and when I say that, I mean it’s actually good without using the other places as a benchmark. Best wonton soup and egg rolls I’ve ever had. Their curry chicken and shrimp fried rice are incredible. Lo mein is so flavorful regardless of which protein you choose. Highly recommend – plus they are FAST! Important to note that they are cash only!!!
