The dishes are generally very good! I really enjoyed the shredded potato with salted egg( 咸蛋黄土豆丝)and boiled beef(水煮牛肉). I’ll keep coming back until I’ve tried every single dish on the menu.

Don’t know what happened to the old posts, but this is definitely not a newly opened restaurant! It’s a genuine Hunan specialty restaurant. It won the recognitions from all my friends from China. It’s also favored by a lot of American friends. No matter you choose to dine in or take out, the taste and quality stay the same. I do not work for them, just heartily recommend you a good choice if you are craving fine Chinese cuisine…

This restaurant was a surprise. Really authentic Hunan cuisine in the mid of nowhere. We ordered 4 dishes, and with tax and tips it was $28 per person. Large portions and we got so much leftovers. Dried radish with preserved pork belly was absolutely the best. Chef Tan had it on the menu but never actually had the dish, but finally we found it here, and the price is much much cheaper. Beer duck tasted really Hunan style, but can be cooked a little longer and softer. Tofu and pork ribs was not bad, but can be better. Finally the thousand year egg with roasted pepper and eggplant, it tasted great! It was not served in a jar, and it was all mashed before serving, but the flavor was on spot. They don’t give free soup, and rice is not unlimited. But for what we paid, and the flavor, the dinner was great.

Been to this authentic Hunan restaurant many times with family over the years. We went back again tonight. This place might not have the attractive decor, but the food they put out is very delicious if you like traditional Hunan cuisine and their price is very fair. So don’t let the “outside” of their building which appeared a bit run down & very dim especially at night to steer you away. Definitely a good place to enjoy some good Chinese cuisine.

The most authentic Hunan/Chinese dishes I’ve ever had in the US at very good prices. The service is also extremely good with very friendly staff(or maybe boss). This will be among my lifetime fav restaurants.

Amazing, incredible restaurant. We ordered 10 different dishes and all 10 were super delicious. All hits, no misses. The Lamb over spicy chilly oil was the most delicious meat I’ve ever eaten in my life. I will be frequently visiting this restaurant. 6 stars out of 5 – Beyond perfect. Highly highly highly recommended. You come here once, you will want to come back – I guarantee it.

I would definitely go here if you’re craving something spicy, unique, flavorful, or just plain American Chinese food. The outside seems a little sketchy but the food is great. I really enjoyed their veggie dishes, spare rib dishes, and noodles. The only complaint we had was that there was stuff in our water and the fried chicken with chilli peppers seemed old bc the chicken was dry and hard to eat.

The food is really good, naturally spicy but the problem is the English translation for the authentic Chinese is very poor, this makes us hard to understand what I might be ordering, and the menu could use more pictures to resolve this issue. But some of my favorites are the hunan cilantro and lamb fish, or the preserverd pork belly with dried radish, or the sliced beef in chili oil. But alot of other things I’d like to try I’m a little bit off put to try new things. Food usually comes quick too unless a large party orderes ahead of you. Overall a nice place and by far the closest authentic Chinese restaurant to my location will definitely be back

Really good Chinese food – this place is a favorite of my Chinese parents. The restaurant is called Fortune Cookies in English and 老湖南 (Old Hunan) in Chinese.
