One of my favorite locations for breakfast is at The Fountain Lounge at The Roosevelt. I am a frequent visitor to the hotel, and every time I stay, I eat at The Fountain Lounge. I always request to be seated in Glen’s area because he is by far the best waiter I have experienced. He knows what I want to order without having to ask, and he is always attentive and ensures my experience is better than the time before. My last visit was for a birthday, and he catered to the whole table. He ensured everyone was satisfied with their order, and he went above and beyond for each person in the party. He is very professional, and I commend him for his dedication and awesome customer service. If a breakfast item on the buffet is not fresh, I just inform Glen, and he corrects it immediately. The food is always great, and the omelet bar is very good. There are several options at the omelet bar, and each omelet is prepared based on the customers selections. Also, I recommend the shrimp and grits located near the omelet bar. It is seasoned well, and gives you an authentic creole experience. I would highly recommend the restaurant. Even if you can not make it for breakfast, they reopen at 5 for dinner, and the dinner is good as well. I’ve never had a bad experience, and I have been well over 20 times for breakfast and dinner. Also, ask for Glen, but if he’s not available, I know the others will be just as great. They are all very professional.

Our experience is the Fountain Lounge has more a restaurant vibe with music and a bar than a lounge. The cocktails are very good but I felt the food seems more the reason people come. The food is also very good with a fairly wide selection. The service was good and we really enjoyed the piano player in the evening. Slightly less formal than the Sazerac bar but still a lot of fun and good food.

Not good experience at all . Service was disjointed and lacked training . Food was beyond subpar at price point . Salad and boiled shrimp were good . Gumbo tasted like burnt roux and salty . Fish entree was severely over cooked , steak was cooked bloody rare when I ordered medium rare . Potato gratin was missing and served after I finished half my steak . “Supervisor” was making rounds to every table but I guess just for lip service as he asked me how my steak was and I was honest and told him it was too rare and I ordered medium rare . All in all pretty much a train wreck . Also another person to get tip scammed . We were a party of two and they added an auto-gratuity of 20% (menu says 5 or more ) . I usually tip 20%+ but it irks me that they did this. I mentioned it to the server and she said she “accidentally” tagged this as a large party order . I told her I saw this happens a lot by accident (several other reviews) and left the 20% would have upped it to 24% if they didn’t do this .

We went to the Fountain Lounge for lunch on Christmas. We got the Beignets, the garden omelet, and the crawfish and tasso ham omelet. The food was delicious. We did have a minor issue with food. Our order was taken, but my orange juice, my fruit cup, and my husband’s bacon weren’t served to us. After letting our server know it was brought right out. Food and atmosphere wise I would highly recommended.

We were sat at the table and were able to place an appetizer order but waited over an hour to be able to place a food order before eventually just having the hostess cash out our ticket and leaving. 2 stars because the appetizer was great.

Nice breakfast in our hotel. The beignets with the raspberry Nutella dip were great. Our veggie omelette was very hot and flavorful. Biscuits and gravy just OK. Coffee: excellent.

The food was great and the fried oyster salad really sold me. You are definitely getting your money’s worth. Some things are a little pricey but that depends on what you have a taste for. The servers and my host Patricka was a joy and didn’t hesitate to help me choose the best options. They made me feel at home. Definitely coming back!

As locals, we were pleased to have another option for fried chicken. Monday is the day. We were sat promptly. It was the day after jazzfest, so naturally, the restaurant was not crowded. The waiter removed the menu and wine list before we even had a chance to look at it. Yes, only chicken was available, but I would have liked to at least look at it. Drinks came within 5 minutes, and so did the fried chicken. Fried chicken should take at least 20 minutes, so the early arrival tells me it was fried earlier. Flavor was great, but the chicken was not piping hot as it would have been, right out of the fryer. Red beans, cole slaw and biscuit were all very good. Waiter checked the table 2 minutes in.

We booked our Christmas dinner here as we are visiting New Orleans. My fiance ordered the fried shrimp and green tomatoes, which featured overcooked shrimp. Ah, well, I thought. Perhaps the main will be better. I ordered the prix fixe, with the main course being roast turkey. When the plate came out, I was surprised that it was the odd ends and bits of the turkey. I decided to try it anyway, since I like dark meat, and found that the turkey pieces were dried out end pieces that had been sitting for a while. Disgusting. I sent it back and the waitress said she would bring a new plate. She came back and said that they couldn’t offer me the turkey but that I could order something else. I did. I soon saw that the tables around me were being served the roast turkey dinner with decent cuts of the turkey. I decided to take it up with the manager, who did not know why the staff would not have offered me another plate and asked me if I knew why, as if I would know why his own kitchen staff does what they do. When the replacement dish–blue crab and avocado toast with a side salad–arrived, it seemed okay. I noticed a bug in the salad. At this point, I called over the waitress and asked for our check. She informed me that the manager had comped the meal, but that hardly makes up for such a horrendous experience. This was supposed to be our Christmas dinner, and we chose a restaurant in the Roosevelt believing that the dinner would be a good experience. It was not only inedible and disgusting, but the reaction of the kitchen staff and the manager so insulting, and the experience was so awful that I shall never again to set foot in a restaurant affiliated with the Waldorf Astoria chain. In all my years of dining out, this is easily the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Stay clear of this awful pit of despair masquerading as a restaurant, because your only reward will be disgusting inedible food and a shocking ineptitude and apathy when they ruin your night out.

A small menu compared to a lot around, but everything was delicious and the service was great. The space feels nice as well with comfortable furniture and large tables.
