About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

I ordered a pizza and garlic bread for dinner tonight and it was a big hit with my family. Everyone agreed that it was the best pizza we’ve had in a long time. The garlic bread was equally fantastic. It is obvious that great care was put into our order despite the restaurant being very busy. When I stopped in to pick up my order, the employees were very helpful and friendly. I’ll be ordering from here again!

This place is phenomenal for Friday night through Sunday orders, but plummets if you order M-Thu. That’s why I give a 3-star overall, because of inconsistency.

Definitely better than the competition. We love Lou Malnati’s and we drive to Illinois all the time for the deep dish, so we were extremely excited when there was one being opened 20 minutes from us.

The toppings were ok, the sauce tasted burnt and the dough was over-proofed. Not bad, but not up to the reputation. I’ll try again on a less busy week.

I’d like to thank Sean and the rest of the team at Lou’s Fox Point for working incredibly hard during these challenging times! The guys were hustling around the lot last night equipped with latex gloves and their cell phones doing multiple passes at the cars patiently waiting for their food. I personally had a misunderstanding about our pickup time which resulted in a longer wait for our food. The management handled the situation professionally and generously. Our pizza was unbelievably delicious but the salad was almost as good! Fresh and full of flavor. We will be back on a regular basis for sure. So glad you guys are here in the north shore and that you are staying open during these difficult times!

I’m usually not a fan of deep dish, which is hard to come by in the Milwaukee area, but Lou’s is one of a few exceptions – the best I know of in this area. Their thin crust pizzas are good too. Also offer tossed and Caesar salads. This is not a dine-in restaurant. Take-out and delivery only. The lobby is pretty small and has been crowded every time I’ve been there.

Fantastic and as expected. My boyfriend and I LOVE Lou Malnati’s and regularly drive an hour to the Third Lake/Gurnee location and eat it in the car. We were excited to finally get a location in Milwaukee and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint! If you are a lover of loaded, meaty pizzas, I suggest ordering the Malnati’s Chicago Classic and add pepperoni. A++++

Pizza took 25 minutes later than time given in email to pick up for curbside. On top of that, it wasnt even really hot. Wings were the best part of the order.

Great Chicago deep dish and the Lou’s salad is outta this world!! I especially appreciated the great service. I ordered ahead for curbside pick-up and this friendly, cheerful, young man seemed to be watching for me at the door. Though I was a little early, this staffer ran (literally) right out and advised me my food would be out shortly. BRAVA! 5 stars on all levels

Very disappointed! The deep dish crust was very unusually stale and hard. It didn’t even look appetizing. The chicken wings sauce was delicious but the skin on the chicken felt like it was a little under cooked. However, the chicken was not undercooked. I just removed the crust and ate the chickens meat with the sauce. My kids were also disappointed with the taste of the deep dish pizza and the lasagna. I thought we had a new pizza place to go to but I will not be returning, unfortunately.
