Francis provided a great culinary experience! He was punctual, professional, and personal. All ingredients used were fresh and added a high quality to the delicious meal. We opted for a 3 course meal- salad, homemade pasta and chicken, and crepes for dessert. 9 out of 9 people in our party thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal and experience! We were able to observe, ask questions, and learn throughout the evening. I would definitely recommend Francis again and again!

A true culinary experience, fine food, unrushed cozy atmosphere, great service. The food is awsome an LBIFOODIES favorite.

Last night we had a superb meal with top class service in an intimate, cozy atmosphere that can’t be beat. We each ordered different appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Each one was prepared to perfection. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. To accommodate the overflow crowd, they created a special table in the deli for us. It was warm, dry, cozy, private, nice music, and the very best food and service on LBI. Thank you so very much to Francis, Deb, and the entire staff. We will most certainly be back so save our table for us! Thank you for another wonderful LBI memory!

Went tonight for their 3 course dinner. Had the Oysyer Rockefeller appetizer.., was ok but spinach wasn’t the usual creamy spinach so was a little dry, oysters were fresh and good. My husband had the chicken liver pâté which was great. Opted for the Dover Sole special which was an additional supplement. Both my husband and I had it. Very disappointing. Presentation was not appealing. For such a beautiful piece of fish topped with vegetables and croutons had an unappealing look. Fish was supposed to be done in the classic Meunière style. Classic Meunière comes with a lemon butter sauce and capers. There was no sauce. Fish was over cooked and rather dry. Certainly a disappointment. Head waiter didn’t appreciate it when we were asked if we enjoyed our dinner and we shared our honesty. Dessert was classic creme brûlée. Still cold on the inside and a very thin layer of browned sugar on top. Just ok. Cappuccinos were great. Other wait staff were very pleasant. They did deduct the additional supplement charge for one of our dinners which was a very nice jester to make good. We won’t be back.

Last evening, we ordered the veal medallions as take out. They were cooked to perfection. The meal was superb especially as take out. We are your neighbors and we appreciate all the changes you have made to accommodate your customers. You haven’t missed a beat on quality and taste. Kathy and Dan

The food was country French, $48 for 3 courses, in a very small (10 tables) restaurant with very little ambiance. While the food was good, the restaurant seemed poorly decorated and thrown together in the back of an Italian deli. It wasn’t quaint. It felt cheap. I ate here over Labor Day Weekend and there was one server. Never did I feel neglected though, as busy as she was. The bread was plentiful and decent. I started with a fish soup and a can of Diet Coke (they had no iced tea but Snapple). I then had perfectly cooked Filet Mignon that was rolled in pepper as opposed to a wine and peppercorn sauce. The potatoes, and mixture of carrots, peas, and bacon were delicious as well. For dessert, I had a teardrop—chocolate mousse with whipped cream inside a teardrop shaped chocolate wall. There was a cherry inside. The food and service were good, but it wasn’t an outstanding meal. I had expected it to be more like Gregory’s. Given a choice, I’d prefer there. The food, and ambiance are better. And they have a staff of servers instead of overloading one person (who did an amazing job regardless!!). I make the comparison only because they are also a small, high end restaurant known for great food not because they are rumored to have worked together at one time. I don’t care about rumors and where chefs come from.
