Picked up a pizza from Frank Pepe yesterday and was looking forward to trying it for the first time. Heared great things about the restaurant. I arrived briefly before closing and the staff had to ask if I can place my order while the restaurant was still open and the open sign was on. The manager informed the staff that yes I can place my order but it was annoying that he had to make me go through that. They must know that by now and not expose their clients to that. I ordered my pizza, paid added a generous tip even though it was a takeout because of the kitchen staff. So I got my pizza beautifully packaged and looks amazing and tastes as promised. But after I got to my destination I realized that I wasn’t offered any napkins, or utensils that is customary for Frank Pepe pizzería to do and we needef them and our destination. I felt that the staff dropped the ball and you don’t have to for such a small gesture which makes a difference at the end of the day. Still an amazing pizza. Got the white shrimp pizza. Give it an easy five stars.

WOW! This was my first time at Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria, and I was impressed with the restaurant; it was a clean, bright space, and our server was amazing! I saw their Tomato Pie on Chronicle, only served from June-September, so I had to check it out. It did not disappoint! The ingredients were beyond fresh. I highly recommend trying this pie.

Very fine quality pizza. You may wait a bit for it to be cooked and arrive at your table, but they ensure a quality pie by not crowding the oven. Good level of crispiness and chewiness. Very tasty cheese and sauce.

We ordered a small Special pizza, small Caesar salad, and a Canolli pie. Pizza was delicious. Caesar salad was fresh but the Caesar dressing could have been better and the croutons were stale. The Canolli pie was good. Service was great!

I really wanted to love this place. I know the origin story and the whole thing is very romantic. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty. The host seated us next to a large table of young children, what is up with that? The place is less than 50% capacity and you put us next to a bunch of overactive kids? We ordered our food, and it came out pretty quickly. The pizza was not good. I understand the concept of the Frank Pepe, thing. But, really, you can’t offer us a better pie when most of the staff is just standing around? This brings me to the most dissatisfying part of our visit. We eat about half of our pizza. Ten minutes goes by. No staff. I get up to go to the gentleman’s lounge. Come back, no staff! What is up? My partner in crime is now swiveled out of the booth, looking at the pizza cooking team, hoping for a waitress, nothing. We finally flag down a different wait person, she disappears. Eventually, our waitperson finally comes back. I urgently tell her, we will take the rest of the pizza to go and a check please! No lie, it was almost 15 minutes for us to get the check. This is not cool! Frank Pepe seems like a great place to go for an authentic slice of Italian pie, but the reality is, it is mediocre at best, not cheap, and the service almost insures, we will take our time to return.

Pizza is pretty good. Probably one of the best pizzas in the area but I hesitate to anoint any pizza “the best”. The wait staff is super friendly and attentive.

I ordered white clam pizza takeout. Arrived within 25 minutes and my pizza was still being made. Not a big deal. Finally got home and the pizza tasted nothing like what I remembered fro. The Connecticut location. I ended up eating 2 slices and so did my brother. The next day was brutal for both of us. 2 days later and my brother is still sick.

We have had take-out in the past. For the first time, we had dine-in. Very nice pizza and salad. White clam pizza was not fishy at all. The dough had a good texture. Tiramisu was very good. The waitress was also very nice. The last thing we can ask is the temperature control of cooking pizza. Too much-burning dough.
