The Lower Half feature was incredible. The crispy coating was awesome. The sauce was unexpectedly lively. Delicious. Fried Okra & potato salad played a terrific supporting role. Originally from the “north” their brewed tea (not to be confused with the “sweet tea”) was perfect. This was my first time visiting. I live a good distance away. I will not let that be a deciding factor in the future.

As a child my thoughts were pretty crazy. The chicken tasted so good I thought they had to shoot the chicken to kill it I always looked for a bullet .

Family owned restaurant that has all the charm and the BEST chicken I’ve had in a while. The lady at the counter was incredibly kind and told us the history of the place. Spend your money here, it’s real people and real, good food!

I absolutely loved everything! From the dipped chicken to all the homemade vegetables. We will definitely be going back. I’m sure my husband is going to try their barbecue in the future. I would definitely call this soul food. We used to love Thelma’s in Salisbury but they have gone downhill!! I have found her replacement! only thing we didn’t like was there tea but I’m not going to deduct a star for bad tea.

The ribs were meaty, but I had to really sink my teeth in them to eat them to pull them off the bone. Mac & cheese was alright. My sweet tea may have actually been unsweet tea. The food was mediocre. Sorry but it was nothing to write home about. I threw half my $26 meal away. Chili’s has better ribs.

Chick wings was ok but my ribs was nasty and I paid 20 bucks for 1lb of beef rib which was dry even with the bbq sauce.. Worst sauce ever and the dip sauce was strong from having too much vinegar candy yams was burnt potato wedges okay sweet tea was watery overall not worth $54

The plain fried chicken quarter and okras were good. The barbeque chicken quarter had an odd sour taste. The potato salad was runny and undesirable. To top it all off, we received two plain hamburger buns. Weird! No dinner rolls or cornbread? The price was $15 total for these two VERY small meals. That is $7.50 per meal (quarter, side, hamburger bun). Thanks, but no thanks. Don’t believe the hype.

It was really hard to see what was on the plate on the count of the smoke due to bad ventilation, but, it don’t take a genius to realize you got a dry midget chicken breast from Oz, 8 overcooked pieces of burnt okra, and Mac (without the cheese). Also, the first time being able to drink banana pudding! All this for $17, come on down!!
