First time trying this spot and I was very impressed with the food and service. I ordered the fried catfish platter. Since I wasn’t familiar with their sides, I asked the staff what they would recommend for sides. I was told their mac and cheese and collard greens. They were ABSOLUTELY correct. I placed my order and it was ready within 15 minutes. The food was great. Seasoned well and great portion sizes. My only disappointment is that I forgot to order a slice of their sweet potato pie! No worries…it just gives me another reason to return. Oh yeah…I got 3 meals out of this ONE dinner platter!!! WINNING!

LISTEN LINDA!!!! Y’all need to go on over here and get you some of the most amazing and delicious soul food! I stopped in for lunch and ordered their barbecue chicken sandwich with some fried okra. I added a side of their baked beans and potato salad. I also added a slice of their sweet potato pie.

The food was awesome it was hot and fresh. I wanted to try the cobbler but they were sold out which means I got to go back. But if it’s anything like the rest of the food I’m sure it’s amazing too the fact that it’s sold out says a lot to me.

UPDATE: A gentleman who had been working in the establishment for a few years over heard conversation with the other employee and took it upon himself to explain the misunderstanding and address customer service issue which helped. Thanks. I did taste food and got some for a friend and it was a bit salty on some of the dishes but apple cobbler was great!

I was looking for a soul food spot near me. Didn’t want to drive all the way to College Park, East Point, Cascade area just to eat some good southern food. Saw this place on Google. Gave it a try and it was pretty good! I enjoyed and will be back. The food is cooked to order. Big pieces of fish. Couldn’t even eat it all and I can usually EAT! LOL. Definitely returning.

Thought I’d try Frank’s Cajun & Soul Food. Got the catfish, shrimp, fries, red beans and rice and mac and cheese. Everything looked great came out on time (15 minutes) people were nice. Food was good and they gave you plenty of sauces. The fish didn’t taste quite like southern catfish more like Swai or Basa fish. The Cajun fries were good, mac & cheese delicious, red beans and rice husband said a little heavy on the seasoning…. I probably should have stuck with just sides only. I really wanted some good authentic southern fried catfish but I wanted it too bad and was extremely disappointed so now I think I will have to stick with cooking my fish myself…I won’t be back to Franks.!!

We were in town on business and decided to grab a bite from Frank’s take-out to bring back to the hotel. When we arrived, the young female order-taker was telling a customer at the window the side items they were OUT (red beans & rice, baked beans, collard greens, potato salad, etc.)He politely asked when the items might be available, and she gave him attitude, before a voice in the background said the potato salad was ready. He shook his head, placed his Po-Boy order, and returned to his car. We stepped to the window, and I asked the waitress for clarification on the “Potato Salad (Southern Style)”. With a foul attitude, she replied, “it’s just regular potato salad.” I asked why it states “southern style,” and she only repeated “it’s regular potato salad,” when a voice in the background added, “it has eggs.” This makes a difference for someone who does not eat or want eggs in their potato salad or may be a vegetarian. So why the attitude? We placed the order, a pork rib platter ($12) with two sides and a side order of shrimp (5 for $3) and piece of catfish ($2), and a fried pork chop platter with two side ($8). We could not wait to dig into our soul food back at the hotel but what a complete letdown! Having waited 25 minutes for undercooked shrimp (slightly raw inside); overcooked, dried-out, tough and chew pork chops; pork ribs that tasted like they had been boiled and then reheated on the grill; catfish the size of a nugget (one-fourth of a whole); and so-so mac & cheese and potato salad. The dirty rice and Cajun corn were the only edible items. In concert with other reviewers, the food (we managed to actually eat) was not good and the STEREOTYPICAL BAD ATTITUDE must go.

Delicious. This place has the best fried whiting that I have eaten. Large portions, sides were seasoned well also. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will be going back. PERIOD!

Frank’s is THE TRUTH!!! Went for the first time and ordered the 3 piece Fried Catfish with Mac n Cheese and Red Beans n Rice… of course I had to try the Peach Cobbler too! Not only was everything delicious, but when he said it will be ready in 15 minutes he meant it. Not a minute later. Everything smelled so good I didn’t even make it home to eat. Pulled the car over in a shaded space n grubbed! The portions are great, you definitely get more than what you pay for. This spot is literally a hidden gem! I’ve driven by so many times and NEVER saw it. This will be my new regular spot! Thank you, Frank!!
