Somehow I missed out on going to Franks for 25 years, what a fool I’ve been. Great diner food, great prices, and great atmosphere. The patty melt was luxuriously soft and delicious and the spicy chicken sandwich was crispy and cooked well. I will be back many times to try all of the plates I saw people eating.

I feel so fortunate to live, quite literally, next door to this Ann Arbor institution. They have excellent breakfast dishes, and if you see the Philly Cheesesteak on the lunch, you’d be greatly remiss not to order it. I’ve found their portions are very generous and the service incredibly efficient and polite. My secret tip? The delicious Greek lemon egg drop soup that is sometimes in the menu. And so. Very. Delicious.

we went to ann arbor for hockey at univ of michigan; the entire team PLUS parent/siblings were hungry and we wanted something within walking distance; it was move-in week so there was a ton of traffic and people; i called ahead and asked if they could accommodate 25 ppl; not only could they fit us all in, they could fit us all in within 15 minutes! great food! great atmosphere! great prices! great experience! i highly recommend this mom and pop style place!

Ordered Maynard’s corned beef, the collocation is good! Chips and eggs add more flavor. Friendly chef!

Frank’s is an nostalgic and inexpensive old favorite diner that has not changed in a half century. It is located right off the central U of M Campus – near Nickel’s Arcade. We visited in August 2018 – and found the huge portions and low prices refreshing — just about everything else in the area has become expensive and rather “chic” as Ann Arbor becomes more upscale. I remember Frank’s back from my student days and nothing much has changed. It is a favorite hangout for the football team, we ended up sitting next to three players on the team who clearly were beefing up on the huge portions. Our bill for lunch for two including beverages, tax, and tip under $25.00. Highly recommended, even if you do not have memories that date back college days.

good was incredible, service was good too. Accidentally misread my order and made the wrong thing and didn’t charge myself or my friend for our coffee/hot chocolate and our sides. We insisted on paying and wouldn’t take it. Food was phenomenal and a fun atmosphere

Decent food at great price, somehow caught the short end of the stick with service. Staff seemed to forget to take our order, and we were trying to flag folks down for about 10-15 minutes. Especially strange because we got our drinks very quickly once we got seated.

The oddest thing, my order came out wrong… The server had them correct it but then sat down a couple seats from us and ate my order that was wrong lol. That’s a first for me.
