The Frederica House has been serving the finest seafood and steaks on St. Simons Island since 1980. The restaurant is centrally-located on St. Simons Island just minutes from the Village, Sea Island, Sea Palms, and Brunswick.
Located in a building that was built with white cedar logs originally used as fencing timbers to corral huge cypress logs floated from the Florida swampland, the restaurant is open nightly for dinner and has a unique dining atmosphere. The hush puppies were great! My daughters filet was undercooked and lacked flavor. My husband’s and my shrimp both tasted as if they had been frozen as they were chewy and tough. Overall, we were disappointed and would not eat here again, especially for the price.

My whole family absolutely loved this place! We made a reservation ahead of time just to be safe but probably didn’t need to. The staff was super friendly and they have a great selection of food. They have the best hush puppies on the island and I highly recommend them to everyone! Steak was cooked great and the crab cake was amazing as well! Would definitely go again!

The steak is a no go, they like to char it all around even if you get medium rare. I don’t like burnt steak so that was not good. The scallops and hush puppies were amazing. The potatoe and green beans were just plain, but still good. Our waitress was wonderful.

Celebrating my wife’s 32 years with the Civil Service and visiting my mom I wanted to give the Frederica House a try. Our waitress Lisa was wonderful, she brought out our drinks and a bowl of hush-puppies while we made our decision, the hush-puppies are very delicious.

The service and food was excellent. The chicken pasta was the best I’ve ever eaten. My husband ordered garlic shrimp and he loved it. The prices of the food was reasonable and worth every cent. Not to mention the brownie sundae was scrumptious! We will definitely visit again.

Got a couple of small shrimp platters. Baked potato and grits and green beans were good. However the shrimp were pathetic. Previously frozen, tiny, no flavor at all and tough. They tasted old. They used to have great hushpuppys also and now theyre much smaller and not as good. And 9 dollars for 1 slice of pecan pie? Seriously?
