Every time I make it out to Atlanta I make sure I visit Fred’s.

Kroger street market is amazing, great vibes and awesome environment to enjoy a quick snack. Freds have the best chicken Philly cheese steak sandwiches in the Atlanta area. The meat is so juicy and the white sauce is icing on the cake. There are numerous other restaurants in the area so come check it out.

I’ve had every kind of cheesesteak out there including ones from Philly. Bon Appetite magazine said it best “The best cheesesteak is no longer found in Philly.” This is the chicken cheesesteak with garlic fries. Amazing.

I’m from philadelphia so when you make a claim that “the best cheesesteak is no longer in Philadelphia” you have my attention. the cheesesteak was a 7/10. meat was nice and flavored but the roll was a bit crunchy. Garlic fires were horrible tbh, no flavor whatsoever and topped with raw garlic. could have at least cooked the garlic to take some of that harsh raw garlic flavor away. overall decent place nice staff.

Overrated. The flavor just wasn’t there. When you spend 17$ for a cheesesteak you expect it to knock your socks off. I did taste everything that was supposed to come on my sandwich but the meat wasn’t seasoned good. I’m a little disappointed to be honest.

Sometimes when we do a lot of business, the quality gets lost. This seems to be the case here. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. There was something missing with the seasoning in the meat. Maybe this was not a good day for them. I didn’t remember to take pic until the following day and not great pics.

By far the best Chicken Philly since I moved to Atlanta. As simple as that. Very flavorful and fulfilling. Will definitely be back.

They had the nerve to have a banner up that read that the best cheesesteak is no longer in Philly. Then I was told that they don’t scoop the roll as I requested. Then it cost $17 and was about 3/4 the size of a really Philly Cheesesteak and with less meat. The flavor was good but it didn’t have that Philly taste and didn’t live up to the hype.

Listen, I never had an actual authentic Philly Cheesesteak from Philadelphia but I IMAGINE its taste like this bad boy right here! Fred’s Meat and Breads are famous for the Cheesesteak. BUT, I opted for the ‘SHROOM SHIRE CHEESESTEAK (ribeye, mushrooms, onion, american cheese, aioli, shroom shire sauce) because I just had to, I love mushrooms! I found this place watching The Best Thing I Ever Ate and just had to try it when I came back to Atlanta. Its located in a “Utopia” called Krog Market with every kind of restaurant you could imagine from Indian food to wide variations of authentic cultural cuisines to Bars & Grilles.

3.7 | My friend really recommended this spot for a great burger and fries combo. I enjoyed the burger, I think next time I’ll try a more substantial one as I just got the regular. I think it’s more smash burger style? but don’t hold me to that. I would say it’s worth a try if you’re in the Krog St area and are craving a good burger but I don’t think I would go out of my way just to have a burger here. However, will be trying it again and updating my review accordingly. They have a decent selection and pretty great fries as well so it’s worth a shot.
