I just ordered a pie with double Italian sausage and got this (see photo). I asked the staff “are you sure that this a double sausage pie?” And was told yes this is definitely a double sausage pie. This begs the question of what a single meat pie would look like. Would there be any meat on the pie at all? I feel like this is a daggum shame, because this joint used to be really good. Very good in fact! There are slices on this pie that do not contain a single piece of sausage, so it’s in fact a cheese pizza. If I wanted a cheese pizza, that’s what I would have ordered. I just called the shop and asked again about this issue and the manager doubled down with their story “I looked at it in the shop before you left, and there was definitely double meat on that pizza”. I feel like I should challenge the credit card billing to try and get the $37 charge cancelled, but of course I won’t do that because I don’t want to be that kind of person. Nonetheless, I feel more than just a little bit cheated by this business. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere for a quality product. This joint apparently ain’t gonna provide it. Addendum: I never post negative reviews for local businesses. I however feel compelled to post this review as a cautionary tale for anyone who happens to see it. Again, such a shame for a place that used to be top notch!

Great pizza (minus the toppings)! Somehow they forgot the meat. Tasted great but feel cheated. A $25 dollar Italian pie with almost no peperoni salami and ham isn’t worth it. They did make up for it with extra semi raw onions, lol

It’s the best pizza in the city, when it’s on point. The sourdough crust is the best crust in the city. But the consistency? When Ziggy’s there, it’s great. Other times, it’s great. But sometimes? Not so much. For example… when I specify ‘well done’ in the order options, and further write “extra-well done, thanks” in the order notes– put a GD crisp on that pizza. It’s not a suggestion, it’s not a request. It’s the order. I mean really, besides the contemporary state of American society, or my ex, what’s more disappointing than an anemic pizza? Not much. And frankly, I’m disappointed by Freewheeler as often as I enjoy it.

Smooth delivery, everything was hot when it arrived. We enjoyed the Ziggy sticks. The garlic knots, sadly, didn’t seem fresh. The pepperoni pizza was alright. The olives on the veggie pizza had a bit of an off taste.

I walked into FREE WHEELER to pick up my pizza. When opening the door, I was shocked at the amount of heat that was blowing in my face. It was hotter inside than outside. I cannot believe the owner Don does not have an air conditioner for his employees. That kind of heat will cause heat stroke, heat exhaustion and heat rashes to name a few. The employees looked miserable. Shame on you Don for not having an air conditioner in an extremely hot restaurant where pizza ovens are running all day.

Free Wheeler has become my go to pizza place. Love the sourdough and wheat crusts. Free wheeler was recommended by a friend and I tried it on a whim. We’ve had great service and fast deliveries. Looking at past negative reviews, it seems like they’ve sorted out past service issues. Love their “simple but something extra” section.

Free Wheeler always has just what I want. The quality is similar to nationwide pizza chains but it’s local and delicious. Their Ziggy sticks (cheese sticks) are my favorite addition to classic pepperoni pizza. I hope they are around forever.
