Freshies originated in 2004 when our customers began requesting fresh food. Maine needed something different than the traditional convenience store, that went beyond just gasoline, tobacco, and beer. This led us to taking hold of the opportunity to reinvent ourselves into something new to better serve you, to reinvent ourselves into a program focused around fresh food and healthier options.

I want to give a huge shout out to Kris. My son was in a very bad situation a few nights ago. She went above & beyond to help him in many ways that night & I am forever grateful. She showed him kindness & understanding & gave him back some of the faith he had lost in humanity. I live in Las Vegas. I couldn’t get to him & I was terrified for my son. But the compassion Kris & a few others in Newport showed him gave me some peace of mind that I desperately needed. As of 11:10am ET today, he’s on his way home! Thank you again & God bless!!

About a week or so ago I decided to order a pizza from the Newport Interstate Freshies location, I had ordered a pizza from the Elm st location a couple weeks prior and it was really good, I thought that if one Freshies pizza was good this one’s would be too, Boys was I wrong, the way it tasted reminded me of a pizza that had set out on the sideboard for a night and a day then warmed up in a microwave, the thought actually ran through my head as I was eating it…. NASTY!!! I will never order food from this Freshies location ever again and certainly don’t recommend them to anyone else.
