This restaurant is horrible. My family and I ate there on Sunday, June 25th. My sister and I got food poisoning from eating the seafood. I ordered the fried clams strip platter, my sister a fish sandwich. I fell ill immediately after leaving the establishment. Throwing up and diarrhea the entire day and night. My sister got sick later in the evening. This was my first time ever eating here, and it definitely will be the last. The tables and chairs weren’t cleaned. Had to switch tables twice until we located a clean section. The strawberry milkshakes we ordered tasted like strawberry milk. Very runny. The broccoli was cooked in the microwave and was cold by the time it was served to us. Please do not eat any seafood from this Friendly’s in Riverhead. Very disappointed with the entire visit here and we spent over $130. Waste of money and ruined the rest of the day. We were visiting from Georgia so everyday counts.

We happened to be in the Riverhead area last Sunday and decided to celebrate my brother’s birthday locally. It’s been a while since we’ve had dinner at a Friendly’s, but we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. Our server Luisanna was excellent and provided great service throughout our meal. My black raspberry Fribble milkshake was the perfect drink to accompany my Fishamajig Supermelt. Our New England clam chowder soups were great starters, full of flavor and comforting. My mother loved the way her Pastrami Supermelt was made with coleslaw in the sandwich. It really was a great combination! My brother especially enjoyed his creamy Lobster roll sandwich, fresh with large chunks of lobster meat. It was a great price for the value. We topped off our dinner with Happy Ending Sundaes, very simple yet very satisfying. Thank you Friendly’s for making our birthday celebration an awesome and friendly experience!

I absolutely love Riverhead Friendly’s and I am so saddened about so many Friendly’s closing. I hope Riverhead Friendly’s continues to do excellent business. That was my son’s first job as a teenager and he’s now 32, some of the staff there still know him! We are always treated like royalty and since I retired to Arizona I have to have my Friendly’s every time I go back to New York. This time I went overboard, when the kids’ food arrived I ordered myself another super size Reese’s Pieces Sundae! That’s how good they are! Excellent ice cream, toppings, long term staff that care!

Joanne the waitress needs to find another job! She was waiting on 3 other tables before us and two other people came in. It took her 35 mins to acknowledge us and take our drink orders – so we decided to just put the entire order in at once. She never came back. After an hour we still never got our drinks and our mozzarella sticks were sitting in the kitchen. She started taking ice cream orders from another table of people who already ate dinner. The table next to us never got their drinks either. We ended up walking out! If a waitress can’t wait on 4 tables, they should find another field of work. She couldn’t even figure out which of us got there first. She waited in the kitchen area for another table’s food to cook (while she could have at least brought our drinks out). If you do decide to eat here, make sure Joanne isn’t your waitress!
